Rampage in the Texas County: Man Shoots Horses, Houses, Before Trying to Force Way into Home

The LufkinDailyNews.com didn’t report what time of day this incident occurred in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Whether it occurred during the day or during the night. What the paper did report: A “rampage” by a “heavily-armed man” with “two different rifles and numerous amounts of ammunition” who appeared near the property boundaries of homes in a sparsely populated area of the county, who then shot and killed four horses “at random”, then shot at neighbor’s homes before he was shot by a homeowner after trying to “force” his way inside the home.

While the wounded man was “known” to the local Sheriff’s office, the homeowner didn’t know the shooter, a man in his late 20′s, previously. The Sheriff said the homeowner was “well within his rights to take the action he did”.

David Brooks: Geithner is Some Sort of Prophet or Something

An article that needs to be revisited two years from now.

From What Geithner Got Right:

Well, the evidence of the past eight months suggests that [TresSec Timothy] Geithner was mostly right and his critics were mostly wrong. The financial sector is in much better shape than it was then. TARP money is being repaid, and the debate now is what to do with the billions that were never needed. It now seems clear that nationalization would have been an unnecessary mistake — potentially expensive and dangerously disruptive.

Brooks’ kiss of death to the U.S. economy?

Most likely another piece of the “let’s make fun of David Brooks” puzzle….

Home Intrusion Bear Escapes After Bullet Fired at Close Range Bounces of Bear’s Skull

“He’s smart. He’s super smart,” Vaughan said. “He’s a big, bad boy.”

As a former resident of the high-country of Colorado who’s had her own encounters with bears, this black bear story out of Nevada peaked even my interest.

So far, the bear-who has been reported as “huge”, weighing over an estimated 700 pds-has:

-Escaped from inside an Nevada Incline Village home after being shot twice: one between the eyes at close range-the bullet, from a 44 magnum handgun fired from the top of a set of stairs, purportedly bounced off the bear’s skull, after being shot again, the bear split,

-Broken into garages and cars,

-Caused an estimated $70,000 in damages, and,

- Had avoided being caught in “bear traps”.

“He’ll walk right by a trap, he won’t go in them. He’s really random in where he goes. He’s made it real tough to catch up with him.”

ACORN Organizer: We Have to Be Non-Partisan, But…

“…WE KNEW WE WERE GONNA PUT OBAMA IN.”

Gotta give the ACORN member credit for honesty in the audio at:

ACORN–The LA Story: “We Knew we were gonna put in Obama”.

And how did Gary Hewson, the man who took the video footage come to be where he was?

I was driving to my local OSH hardware store in West L.A. yesterday to buy some tools for the house where I spotted an ACORN rally across the street at some FOX studio. After buying some supplies, I went into my car to get the brand new hand-held HD video camera I had purchased just the night before for an upcoming vacation. With camera in hand, I walked towards the protesters to gather some pictures and video footage of the rally.

Here’s a teaser of what he was told at the ACORN rally:

ACORN organizer: “…when Obama ran, we sort of did it undercover we were going to put Obama in. We never declared because we have to be non-partisan, but the national organization. But it was sort of like under the grapevine we knew we were gonna put Obama in.”

“We have to be non-partisan?” Who believes that, besides Congressman Alan Mollohan (D-WV$$) and the other 75 Dem House members who voted to fund ACORN?

Big Government has the video. No doubt, it will be released soon…

Confirmed: Hasan was a Card-Carrying Soldier of Allah

It’s not a figure of speech or conjecture anymore…Maj. Hasan was a card-carrying Islamist…both by his actions and his…card?

Memo to President Obama, Mainstream Media: Just because Maj. Hasan was a card-carrying Soldier of Allah doesn’t mean he was acting on any Islamist tendencies….right?!?

So Army Major Nidal Hasan is not a Terrorist, He’s Just a Soldier of Allah … Business cards “SoA (SWT)”

The gunman who killed 14 and wounded over 40 at Fort Hood proclaimed himself a “soldier of Allah,” ”SoA (SWT),” on private business cards. The box of business cards was discovered at his apartment near Fort Hood, Texas.

In his words and deeds, President Obama has shown more concern for this still-breathing Soldier of Allah than the dead soldiers of the US Army.

Scared Monkeys: “Barack Obama, we are not jumping to conclusion, we are using common sense. Face it Barack Hussein Obama, this is the first act of successful terrorism on US soil since 9–11 and it was during your administration.”

Exactly.

Tim Pawlenty: The MSM Brezhnev Doctrine

Liberal big-city daily with incredibly shrinking circulation can’t get enough articles detailing why Tim Pawlenty is too conservative:

Pawlenty hasn’t learned from Romney’s mistakes

But the misstep was not the first questionable decision by Pawlenty.

In September, he jumped into the controversy over President Obama’s speech to schoolchildren, questioning the wisdom of the address in a way that provided some cover to those who claimed that the presidential talk was an overtly political move designed to indoctrinate young people.

In another interview on MSNBC, Pawlenty appeared reluctant to get on the wrong side of those who claimed that there were “death panels” in some versions of the health-care legislation on Capitol Hill. He eventually acknowledged that there were no such panels but said the concerns of those who believed so were justifiable.

It’s all about “reaching out” and “inclusiveness” if you’re inclined to be conservative. If you’re a liberal, such actions are likely to be labeled simply as “being a chump”.

It’s evidenced at the Washington Post, but also in all of Big Media: when you’re a conservative, the only way you can earn respect and admiration of the 20% of America (and 99% of MSM editorial boards) is to abandon conservative principles. It’s a the MSM’s version of the Brezhnev Doctrine.

According to the Doctrine, the largest problem a conservative will have in getting elected is having conservative principles. Of course, history, Bob Dole and John McCain are proof otherwise. But when did the Washington Post ever let the facts get in the way of Doctrine?

NOTE: We’re referring to the part of the Brezhnev Doctrine that can be summed up as “What’s mine is mine and what’s your’s is in play.”

Pastors Turned into Criminals by Federal Hate Crimes Legislation?

Will U.S. Attorney General Arrest Pastors for Violation of the Hate Crime Legislation?

Good question.

Legal challenges to the unconstitutional hate crimes law may be announced at that time. Matt Staver, Esq., Founder and President of Liberty Counsel, has been retained as their legal Counsel and will be present for the news conference.

While the ministers do not expect to be arrested, they are willing to go to jail, if necessary, to stand for freedom of speech and religion.

The Federal Hate Crimes Legislation is another example of the Left’s attack on the family and religion, the last two cultural institutions they do not currently control. [Communists, Progressive and Subversion by the Left]

Which wins out here: freedom of speech or federal PC police?

Where’s all of the dweebs who warned of the “coming theocracy” strawman during the Bush years? Which has more power: a lone pastor in his pulpit or the combined power of the U.S. federal government?

Readers can decide for themselves.

Social Security, Medicare Gap = 2x World GDP

From the good doctor at Hot Air, Maybe this time…

The difference between promised benefits and expected revenues for Social Security and Medicare amounts to about $107 trillion dollars, which Doug Bandow of the Cato Institute points out is double the annual Gross Domestic Product of the entire world. The most strident opponent of the New Deal would never have dreamed of predicting this level of cost overrun. Name any government program that has been around for more than five years, and the odds are good it costs at least triple what its opponents originally said it would cost.

Doc Zero, speaking of the many and frequent short-comings of the many and frequent federal government programs: “Maybe this time, Americans will insist their Senators kill this deranged health-care scheme before it gets signed into law… instead of taking risks on a government that has never failed to disappoint them.”

Yeah…maybe.
