Marc Ambinder at the The Atlantic reports Democrats and the White House have been in discussions on whether Obama could sign an Executive Order which would “clarify” federal policy on funding abortions in regards to the Dem’s Healthcare reform legislation.

The White House and Democratic leaders have discussed whether an executive order by President Obama clarifying federal policy on funding abortions might be used to mollify pro-life Democrats, still wavering less than 24 hours before the scheduled vote on health care reform legislation. Late yesterday, talks between the leader of the faction, Bart Stupak, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office broke down after pro-choice Democrats made it clear that they would not support a separate vote to add anti-abortion language to the bill itself.

Ambinder, in his piece, failed to clarify just what the executive order would entail. More from Life News:

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — Apparently unable to find enough votes for the pro-abortion Senate health care bill and with talks breaking down on how to allow Rep. Bart Stupak a vote on some sort of motion or bill to stop abortion funding, Democrats appear to be relying on a potential executive order to corral more votes for the bill.

The idea is to promise an executive order from President Barack Obama to stop the massive abortion funding and promotion in the Senate measure.

“It should be noted that all of the problems listed in the NRLC letter — with the possible exception of no. 5 (pro-abortion administrative mandates) — would be created by and controlled by the proposed statutory language of H.R. 3590,” Douglas Johnsn of National Right to Life told LifeNews.com. “If the bill is signed into law, these statutory requirements and defects are not subject to correction or nullification by the chief executive or his appointees, whether by Executive Order, regulation, or otherwise.”

After suffering though a February where the sun shone less than two days and a record amount of snowfall–over three feet–March arrived armed with sunshine and warmer weather. What is an Equinox and why does Spring arrive each year at a different time, or in some cases, a different day?

The equinoxes are also the points on the celestial sphere where the ecliptic and equator cross and the vernal equinox is used as the zero point in measuring star co-ordinates.

The Earth takes approximately 365.25 days to go around the Sun. This is the reason we have a leap year every 4 years, to add another day to our calendar so that there is not a gradual drift of date through the seasons. For the same reason the precise time of the equinoxes are not the same each year, and generally will occur about 6 hours later each year, with a jump of a day (backwards) on leap years.

It begins with:

“Primum nil nocere.”First, do no harm. This guiding principle is a bedrock of medical care. Sadly, those politicians who would rewrite our health care laws do not live in the same universe as do the doctors and health care professionals who must practice it.

Imagine if, like physicians, politicians were personally held to the incredibly high level of scrutiny that includes civil and financial liability for any unintended consequence of their decisions. Imagine if they were forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars each year on malpractice insurance and still faced the threat of multimillion-dollar lawsuits with every single decision they made. If so, a government takeover of health care would be the furthest thing from their minds.

Next up, Pajamas Media will post an interview later this afternoon with Dr. Wolf. Then the good doctor heads to Fox & Friends tomorrow morning. Add a “Friday mid-day Washington D.C. joint press conference with Michele Bauchmann et al. in conjunction with Town Hall to Washington, the Tea Party initiative.”

Dr. Wolf ends up with a flurry of interviews and appearances on radio, TV, print and hopefully at least one family chat in the Oval Office–but don’t hold your breath.

MAINSTREAM PRESS HAD NO PROBLEM BELIEVING RIDICULOUS SCHEME

Andrew Young, in his book, The Politician, holds forth on the beginnings of the John Edwards’ cover-up. One of the main pillars of the cover-up, after the National Enquirer discovered that Rielle Hunter was pregnant was the ridiculous story that she was pregnant, not by Edwards, but by Edwards’ campaign fall-guy, Young.

It was an absolutely preposterous lie, but Edwards decided to go ahead. “This single paragraph was to be offered to the National Enquirer or any other media person who called the Edwards campaign about Rielle Hunter,” writes Young. “The senator and the advisers who worked closely with him on this issue — Jonathan Prince and Mark Kornblau — expected the onslaught to begin on Wednesday, December 19, when the new edition of the Enquirer would be posted online.” In anticipation of a firestorm, Young sent his family out of town.

But when the Enquirer story was published, nothing much happened. “To our relief, no serious newspaper or TV network picked up the story because they couldn’t find a source to confirm it,” Young writes. “Our phones and those of our friends and relatives rang constantly with calls from reporters and producers, but we ignored them all. Rielle and the campaign followed the same strategy, and since they still play by the multi-source rule, the big print and broadcast news organizations were stymied.” The damage was confined to a few websites. “We began to think that perhaps our strategy had worked,” Young writes.

Just for the record: one of those “few websites” was this one. While the mainstream press not only covered up, but helped the Edwards’ campaign hide the story, DBKP was publishing over 160 articles on various parts of the affair, scandal and elaborate cover-up.

We also spent considerable space on the Mainstream Media dereliction of duty towards the Edwards story.

The Edwards’ campaign was well aware of who we were, according to several sources.

We want to take this opportunity to remind the Mainstream Media–so that the next time, they’ll be sure to ask Andrew Young about those “few websites.”

Keep in mind as you read the following: the Inspector General overseeing the TARP operations is the one who is issuing the warning to Congress.

Morgen Richmond, at Big Government, Inspector General: TARP has created a looming disaster, provides a public service by breaking down the TARP report to the level of a DANGER! sign for Americans.

Yesterday the Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (SIGTARP) released their Quarterly Report to Congress for the period ending 12/31/2009.

To the extent that institutions were previously incentivized to take reckless risks through a “heads, I win; tails, the Government will bail me out” mentality, the market is more convinced than ever that the Government will step in as necessary to save systemically significant institutions. This perception was reinforced when TARP was extended until October 3, 2010, thus permitting Treasury to maintain a war chest of potential rescue funding at the same time that banks that have shown questionable ability to return to profitability (and in some cases are posting multi-billion-dollar losses) are exiting TARP programs.

Stated another way, even if TARP saved our financial system from driving off a cliff back in 2008, absent meaningful reform, we are still driving on the same winding mountain road, but this time in a faster car.

Richmond’s assessment of the report seems to be right on:

The White House is in the midst of a campaign to focus populist anger on Wall Street, which is certainly deserving of some blame for the financial crisis. But by continuing to leverage the future of our children by adding trillions of dollars more to our national debt over the next few years, the Administration is demonstrating where the ultimate blame should reside for the culture of irresponsible borrowing and financial mismanagement which led us to this point. It’s not Wall Street – it’s Pennsylvania Avenue.

As long as Republicans act like Progressive Democrats and agree to help him shove his unpopular programs down voters’ throats.

Mr. Obama appeals to Republicans to be “bipartisan” and help him “fundamentally transform” the United States.

The man has flashed residents of Moundsville , WV, seven times:

MOUNDSVILLE — A woman jogging on First Street was the latest to spot the flasher.

Police say he was, as always, nude from the waist down, this time with a black concert T-shirt pulled up over his head, “wrapped around like a turban,” in the jogger’s words.

And the flasher may be broadening his territory.

“Usually he is between Cedar Avenue and Grant in the areas of Second, Third and Fourth Streets,” says Sgt. Don DeWitt of the Moundsville Police. “This (Wednesday night’s sighting) is a little out of that general area.

Moundsville is small blue collar town, pop. 9,998 in 2000, located in northeastern West Virginia along the banks of the Ohio River. Home of the infamous West Virginia State Penitentiary, a favorite site of paranormal investigations.

YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK

A neat bit of detective work by Judicial Watch and Doug Ross. Ross is to be congratulated for seeing that this is simply a clear illustration of one huge thing wrong with our system.

He’s also found one other nugget among the abuses: the military planes were used to ferry members of Pelosi’s family around the country when there were no congressional representatives on the plane.

Political representatives–in this case, Nancy Pelosi–who are so out of touch, they think it’s better that the military fly their family all over the U.S. at the cost of $18,000 per hour than to fly commercial.

Of course it’s better for Pelosi: Joe Sixpack paying her travel and babysitting bills is always better than if she has to.

Meet the Pelosi family! Using Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, Judicial Watch uncovered thousands of pages of travel documents related to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s use of military aircraft.

What hasn’t been revealed so far is that military aircraft are being used to shuttle Pelosi’s kids and grandkids between DC and San Francisco without any Congressional representatives even onboard! Put simply, the United States Air Force is serving as a multi-billion dollar chauffeur- and baby-sitting service for Nancy Pelosi’s kids and grandkids — presumably because commercial travel is beneath the families of the autocrats.

Ross had receipt after sickening (if you’re a taxpayer) receipt where Madame Speaker has forced the military and U.S. taxpayers to pick up the tab for shuttling her kids and grandkids from coast to coast on the little people’s dime.

In some of these cases, there was no one else on the plane but members of Pelosi’s family.

Ross: “Here’s but one example of the Speaker’s kids traveling by military aircraft by themselves!”

Mummy Dearest…

The last time neighbors saw 82-yr-old Patricia Bostrum alive was 6 yrs ago.

According to her daughter, Nancy “Sunny” Bostrum, her mom was away, traveling, and that she’d seen her mother alive just six weeks before the cops discovered Patricia’s mummified corpse sitting upright in a chair in her California home.

Sonny was a “person of interest”. According to the cops, Sonny claimed she didn’t know her mother was dead despite the fact that Sonny visited her mother’s home, paid her mother’s utility bills, and picked up her mother’s mail.

That’s all behind Sonny as she’s applied to run for city council, hoping to help…. the elderly.

According to seismologists, Haiti isn’t out the woods for more large aftershocks, while the Dominican Republic, who was spared, should take note of the newest predictions by the USGS.

There’s new predictions that Haiti could, in the near future, suffer several aftershocks in the 6.0 range, and, that an earthquake of up to 7.2, could strike Port Au Prince. A 7.2 earthquake would be 200 times stronger than the 7.0.

The USGS predictions are based on preliminary data from the 7.0 earthquake which struck Haiti on January 12. Data which shows quake lessened the tension in the Enriquillo-Plantain Garden fault zone but failed to move the segment which lies east of epicenter, adjacent to Port Au Prince which could lead to aftershocks up to 6.0.

The 7.0 and subsequent aftershocks all occurred in Haiti while the Dominican Republic was spared. The prediction of a bigger, more massive quake includes the Dominican Republic and the Enriquillo fault which runs along the southern edge of the island of Hispaniola which includes both Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Apparently this isn’t new, decorated live beetles for jewelry. The unfortunate beetle was confiscated by U.S. Customs official after a woman tried to enter from Mexico into Brownsville, Tx, and the official saw the beetle crawling on the woman’s clothes tethered by a tiny gold chain and safety pin.
