MSNBC Palin Coverage: Who’s the Real Whitey?

BigFurHat of I Own the World notices something about the recent MSNBC coverage of Sarah Palin’s book tour: The Snowflake Calling the Snowman White.

In Michigan, O’Donnell smugly noted that Palin’s fans were “largely white — almost no minorities in this crowd.” Matthews parroted the line, assailing the “white crowd.” Walsh likened the gathering to a “paranoid tea party.” Matthews hammered away at the “monochromatic” scene.

Ahem. Check out the masthead of MSNBC TV, “The Place for Politics.” Wear sunglasses and SPF 30 lotion. You’ll need protection from the blinding white glare:

Question of the Day: Why is Norah O’Donnell Still Employed by NBC?

It’s early, but it’s tough to see how any other question will even remotely come close to John Ziegler’s.

From Why Is Norah O’Donnell Still Employed by NBC News:

If there was an All-Star roster of news media members who have been willing to go the lowest and get the dirtiest in their brazen and transparent attempt to destroy Sarah Palin, NBC’s Norah O’Donnell, along with numerous of her NBC colleagues, would certainly make the first team. My question (which I have raised with her twice on live TV) is: How in the world does she still have a job at one of the most powerful alleged “news” organizations in the country, and if she isn’t fired for bias, then is such an event even possible?

Ziegler goes on to list O’Donnell’s most egregious anti-Palin antics. The list is by no means comprehensive.

Why is O’Donnell still employed?

O’Donnell obviously hasn’t mastered the art of objective reporting. So why’s she still at NBC News?

Maybe she’s mastered some other arts not all together related to reporting?

Media Matters Claims Credit for Lou Dobbs Leaving CNN

SHOULD DOBBS SEND MEDIA MATTERS A BOX OF CHOCOLATES?

Media Matters is taking credit for Lou Dobbs stepping down from CNN.

From a MM email:

Last night was Lou Dobbs’ last show on CNN. Dobbs’ sudden departure is a powerful reminder of what we are capable of when we work together. For years, Dobbs used his prominent platform on CNN as a perch to spread hate, misinformation, and wild conspiracy theories. Thanks in no small part to your continued dedication and activism, starting today, Dobbs no longer has that platform.

Below is the Media Matters’ video, “Adios Lou Dobbs”.

But did Media Matter? Maybe, maybe not–but if it did…

IF speculation is correct, Dobbs is likely to land at Fox Business Network with additional slots at Fox News. That would give the former CNN anchor a platform that’s three times larger than the one he had at CNN.

Oh no.

So, if this is true, Media Matters is actually responsible for helping Lou Dobbs reach many more millions than have ever watched him at fourth-place CNN.

Lou Dobbs might consider sending Media Matters’ prez, Eric Burns, a box of chocolates!

MORE: Video: Lou Dobbs quits CNN

ONE LAST NOTE: Media Matters sent out four anti-Dobbs emails in over an eight-day period back in September. All of the emails contained appeals for money. Dobbs was one of Media Matters best fundraising tools, probably surpassing even Rush Limbaugh–at least in September. If Dobbs doesn’t end up at Fox, MM has lost a big money maker. MM president, Eric Burns, might consider starting an email campaign to get Dobbs to sign on immediately at Fox News. Or MM might have to hit George Soros up for more money in 2010.

Glenn Greenwald: Sloppy or Dishonest?

As if any more proof was needed that the facts don’t get in the way of a Glenn Greenwald meme: Glenn Greenwald Smears Allahpundit and Me . . . With Ellipses.

Greenwald leaves any information out that might contradict his chosen theme in a piece about Patterico and Allahpundit.

GG readers have a choice of answers about the writer’s tactics in his smear piece: is Greenwald merely sloppy, lazy or dishonest? Another choice: all of the above. Greenwald might be one of the reasons for Salon’s low stock price. The last remembered price–several months ago–Salon Media Group was worth about .40/share.

It’s worth a click to see the brutal beatdown Ace gave God’s Gift to Salon, Glenn Greenwald.

AP: Recovery Not Really a Recovery

Ed Morrissey at Hot Air: AP: Recovery? What recovery?

The AP has been trying hard to sell the idea of recovery over the last few weeks, but even the AP can’t spin double-digit unemployment. In a piece published last night, they took a decidedly pessimistic tone in reporting the accelerating pace of job losses, using the somewhat ironic headline “What recovery?”

Uh oh. If the AP starts being skeptical about the spin on bogus recovery claims, the Obama Administration has lost a valuable press cheerleader. Forget the tea parties: Without the cover of the press, the natives will really get restless. When that portion of the population that depends on the MSM for news finds out what’s really going on–look out!

UPDATE @ 1450 EST 110709:
AP:“What recovery? Unemployment shoots past 10 percent”
Don Surber: “We lost 3.2 million jobs in the last 14 months of the Bush administration. We have lost 4.1 million since then.”

Give the man a cigar!

Uncle Walter Cronkite: Too Bad He Descended into Useful Toolery

Thoughts on “Uncle Walter” Cronkite: Saint Cronkite: Journalism’s Twice-Blemished Icon.

Eric Rozenman, American Thinker: “Reaffirmation of Cronkite’s own partisanship came in an encomium. In a Washington Post Op-Ed (“Vice President Walter Cronkite,” July 25) Frank Mankiewicz, campaign manager for 1972 Democratic presidential nominee Sen. George McGovern (D-S.D.), disclosed that the anchorman lobbied Sen. Robert Kennedy (D-N.Y.) to run as an anti-war candidate in 1967, months before Tet. Mankiewicz also revealed that Cronkite said he would have accepted the vice-presidential slot on McGovern’s ticket if he had been asked.”

The objectivity of Walter Cronkite, along with the man: R.I.P.

Amnesia or Douche?

Gibbs: Can You Imagine if, 5 Years Ago, People Had Protested With Hitler Pictures?!?

Robert Gibbs is redefining the word “tool”. In all fairness, it must be to be the front man for the Obama administration’s rampaging Leftism and be faced everyday with a pack of increasingly journalistic journalists. What will he do if the press ever fulfills their adversarial role?
