Washington Post Mistakes Malcolm X for Obama

Seen at Don Surber’s, who saw it at Gawker.

One suspects the Washington Post is not racist: after all, it’s not like the paper was used for a Tea Party sign. Easy to see why the mistake occurred: both Obama and Malcolm X have produced their share of wind energy.

Wheeling Tax Day Tea Party Pix

The Party in Wheeling had it down to a “T”

It wasn’t as big as Cincinnati or some of the other Tea Party events planned for around the country today, but in terms of percentage of the population of the host city, it was BIG.

Wesboro Baptist Church Protests at Wheeling Catholic Churches

WESTBORO BAPTIST COMES TO WHEELING WV

More pix from hate group’s appearance in the Friendly City on April 10, 2010.

Groups of young folks from Young Life and others prepare for the Westboro invasion.

The crowd starts to get into the mood.

“Go Home!” USA! USA! USA!” and sundry insults were traded back and forth between the crowd and the lady with the quad-signs arrangement.

After about 20 minutes, fully 300 people were surrounding the police barricades set up to keep the two groups apart. The police’s main duty seemed to be keeping various members out of the street to avoid getting hit by passing vehicles.

A large crowd gathered across the street in front of the Cathedral of St. Joseph because there was no more room on the side of the street where Westboro was set up.

Several couples on their way to evening mass wondered who the “crazy people were and why they’re like that?”

The president was not spared. Who does the Westboro graphics?

Interesting sign from one of the counter-protesters. Fight hate with lobster abstinence!

These two locals were well-prepared with appropriate signage.

Mary from Moundsville and her husband, John, had a milder message–which reflected the overall tone of the counter-protesters.

Post will be updated with more pix and captions later on Sunday.

Obama Stumps for Shit Sandwich: Limbaugh, Beck a Problem

Obama: “My health care bill is really a yummy eclair. Doesn’t it taste good? Well, doesn’t it?”

President Obama continued his “Shit Sandwich Tour 2010″ by whining that Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck can’t see the yumminess of ObamaCare–yet.

“Well, I think that when you listen to Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck, it’s pretty apparent, and it’s troublesome, but keep in mind that there have been periods in American history where this kind of vitriol comes out.

“It happens often when you’ve got an economy that is making people more anxious and people are feeling like there is a lot of change that needs to take place. But that’s not the vast majority of Americans. I think the vast majority of Americans know that we’re trying hard, that I want what’s best for the country.”
–Obama on CBS

Limbaugh responded.

“I and most Americans do not believe President Obama is trying to do what’s best for the country,” he wrote. “Never in my life have I seen a regime like this, governing against the will of the people, purposely. I have never seen the media so supportive of a regime amassing so much power. And I have never known as many people who literally fear for the future of the country.”

Can’t taste ObamaCare’s sweetness after it’s forced on you?

That’s “vitriol.”

Cops Taser Ten-Yr-Old: Day Care Nightmare in Indiana

An unruly ten-yr-old boy was tasered and slapped by two cops at an Indiana day care. The cops claim the kid was out of control, attacking other kids and caretakers.

According to sources, this wasn’t the first time cops had to be called to Tender Teddies Day Care in Indianapolis related to the same “type of reports”. There’s two issues here, the blatantly obvious one of why two grown men, cops, needed to use a weapon to subdue a ten-yr-old boy, and the other less obvious issue of whether the previous incident involved the same boy and whether the boy had tried to attack other kids and caretakers? If so, then why was the kid, who was a danger to other kids, allowed to return?
