Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire announced Wednesday the state will no longer accept Arkansas parolees, three days after Arkansas parolee Maurice Clemmons ambushed and shot to death four police officers in Lakewood. One day later, Bellingham Washington police officers arrested Arkansas parolee Danny Lee Carter, 36.
Carter, who was wanted for a parole violation for residential burglary out of Arkansas, was busted after police responded to a report of a suspicious person. When police arrived, Carter was allegedly sitting in a vehicle next to another vehicle with a busted window. Carter led police on a 20-minute foot chase before he was apprehended.
