Twelve-Yr-old Texas Girl Arrested for Making Bomb Threat at School
A 12-yr-old Plainview, Texas girl has been arrested, and charged with writing a bomb threat in the local Junior High school bathroom.
The proof: Three schoolgirl witnesses who claim the girl wrote on a bathroom stall ” “I’m gone (sic) blow this school up (expletive).”
Mrs. Soto said three students who went into the bathroom after her daughter told school officials she wrote the message, and video cameras in the hallway confirm Priscilla was in the bathroom around the time the message appeared shortly after 8 a.m. today. Besides her daughter, Mrs. Soto said a janitor, a teacher, another student and the three who said Priscilla wrote the message also could be seen going into the bathroom about the same time.
“They feel like it’s (Priscilla) because she had a Sharpie on her, but probably half of the school carries Sharpies on them,” Mrs. Soto said.
Although the note was written with a black marker, the girl’s mother said it’s obvious her daughter didn’t write it.
“You can see it right away that it’s not her writing,” Mrs. Soto said. “She won’t write in cursive, and this is in cursive. As soon as I saw it I said, ‘She didn’t write that.’ I know my child’s writing. I even make fun of it because we write the same.”
This is an interesting case in that the girl was arrested, then charged with making a bomb threat at her school due to:
-The incident occurred at around 8 am, the school didn’t contacted the girl’s mother until 4 hours later and told her daughter was at the police station.
-The girl was arrested, then taken to the Plainview Police Department without contacting the girl’s mother.
-The girl was interrogated by the cops without contacting her mother, or having someone represent the girl.
-The girl said she confessed because the cops told her she was “going to get in really big trouble”.
-The cops and school claim the message “appeared” when Priscilla was in the bathroom was based on the three “witnesses” who allegedly saw the message. There’s no video in the bathroom which would have shown who wrote the message: Priscilla, or any of the three “witnesses”.
We’ve seen this scenario before, of cops interrogating juveniles while threatening the kids that they “were going to get in the really big trouble”, when, in the end, the “big trouble” came by way of the cops illiciting a “confession” by way of threats and harassment, then charging the child with a crime.
