OSU Student Faces Extortion Charges after Posting Student’s Profile on Match.com

A 24-yr-old Oklahoma State University student needed the lecture notes to an introduction to theater class. He ended up with a warrant for his arrest on felony and misdemeanor charges alleging extortion and intimidation and harassment with a computer.
The victim: A 18-yr-old female student who refused to turn over her lecture notes. The extortion plot: Creating a profile of the female student on Match.com, then promising to “remove” the profile if she turned over her notes. The male student allegedly “upped” his threat:
According to the court documents, Johnson sent another text message which said, “You have until 8:30. If I don’t have anything, I will sign you up for another every half hour. What do you think about a craigs list ad? That’d be catchy!”
Mondo: Here’s a tip: it’s easier to catch flies with honey. But this way, it’s easier to catch a warrant or two.
