War Toys, Working Stiffs, and Cultural Schlock
WORKING STIFF MADE GOOD
This came in from the hardest-working writer in Boston, Darren Garnick:
War Toys: Wanna play with my grenade launcher? which features the following weird tourist pic.
Story behind the above pic at the link above.
That led us to Darren Garnick’s Culture Schlock which resulted in us burning through about 30 minutes of our valued surfing time. Evaluation: time well-spent, especially on these two items: “Little House” actress urges peace between Bonnetheads and Gableheads and Dear New York Post: I Love You.
The first concerns one of the Little House denizens we loved to hate: hurl-inducing Nellie Olsen. The second concerns a paper we love (mostly): the New York Post.
This in turn, caused us to surf to Darren’s Mainstream gig, Working Stiff @ the Boston Herald, and this beauty: Some buzzworthy (and bizarre) advertising campaigns, where we tarried longer, taking in an account of what happens when ad campaigns and insects collide.
Our final evaluation? It’s a Saturday and if your favorite team’s not on the tube, these are perfect locales for a few of your valuable surfing minutes.
