Houston’s Scrooge? Attorney Faces Wrath after Filing Lawsuit over Church Feeding “Derelicts” Near Attorney’s Office

Houston attorney Harry C. Arthur, fed up with the large number of “derelicts” near his downtown office, filed a recent lawsuit against a nearby church whose outreach programs feed an estimated 400 homeless people a day. Arthur wants the outreach program to “cease and desist”.

Is Harry a Scrooge? According to the numerous comments posted on the Houston Chronicle article, many believe he is. But then again, Harry’s plight, of hundreds of homeless milling about his office building a day, sleeping in the shadows at night, defecating and urinating near the building, and panhandling people who are downtown on business, with nearby tenants fleeing in droves, maybe Harry isn’t quite the scrooge some believe him to be.

Meanwhile, with the number of unemployed in the U.S. over 10 million, and an estimated one million homeless, Obama is gearing up to fly to Copenhagen to “save” the world from global warming.
