Ft Hood: FBI, Army Play ‘Who Dropped the Ball’
FBI, Army in Cage Match over Whether Army Knew of Hasan Terror Ties
Looks like the Army and the FBI are playing the “who dropped the ball”
Senior Official: More Hasan Ties to People Under Investigation by FBI
A senior government official tells ABC News that investigators have found that alleged Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan had “more unexplained connections to people being tracked by the FBI” than just radical cleric Anwar al Awlaki. The official declined to name the individuals but Congressional sources said their names and countries of origin were likely to emerge soon.
The report by ABC goes on to say that the FBI told the Army about all of this, which the Army denies.
THE GOOD OLD DAYS: Remember when the Department of Homeland Security was touted as an agency that would serve as a clearinghouse for info on terrorists–instead of just another ineffective, bloated federal bureaucracy?
Remember when the Department of Homeland Security was created? The Bush administration and some in Congress insisted that it would make us safer and create a clearinghouse for terrorist information. DHS head Janet Napolitano was at a Domestic Terror conference when the shootings took place. No word if one of the topics was “Islamist infiltration of the US Military”.
Others countered that it would just be your typical government bureaucracy.
Looks like the second group was right.
