ABC: Stimulus Spent, Jobs Saved in Fake Congressional Districts
ABC’s Jonathan Karl discovers something odd on the White House website, Recovery.gov: Exclusive: Jobs ‘Saved or Created’ in Congressional Districts That Don’t Exist.
Here’s a stimulus success story: In Arizona’s 15th congressional district, 30 jobs have been saved or created with just $761,420 in federal stimulus spending. At least that’s what the Web site set up by the Obama administration to track the $787 billion stimulus says.
There’s one problem, though: There is no 15th congressional district in Arizona; the state has only eight districts.
There’s no 86th congressional district in Arizona either, but the government’s recovery.gov Web site says $34 million in stimulus money has been spent there.
This is the financial equivalent of dead people voting.

Maybe this story is just 2009’s version of ABC chasing Fred Baron around at the Dem Convention and asking him inconvenient questions as he ducked behind another closed door. ABC then went back to being a reliable mouthpiece after that.
But, Hope springs eternal…

Can’t say the media isn’t in copycat mode right now. They are positively doing their jobs on this story. Still, it’s not like this involved a lot of tough detective work. Anyone with a computer and an Internet connection could have busted some of the fake White House claims–and have. BUT, you have to give them a little credit. But only a little…
