The CONSERVATIVE 100

DBKP has released its monthly ratings of the Most Popular 100 Conservative sites on the web, the Conservative 100. The ratings are based on Alexa traffic rankings 3-month average.

The Conservative 100 list contains all sites of interest to conservatives or with a conservative point of view. Several Libertarian sites are also included, such as Reason and Freedom’s Phoenix.

The Top Five remain unchanged from three weeks ago. The number one slot is held by Fox News, followed by the Wall Street Journal’s Opinion page and the Drudge Report. Two “combination sites”, Breitbart.com/Big Hollywood and World Net Daily/Michael Savage round out the Top Five.

Several new sites made their way into the Top 100: Canada Free Press debuts at 37, NewsReal Blog at 42, Life News at 62 and Day by Day at 74. Also new this ratings period is Zombie Time and Dr. Helen.

The five Fastest Movers this period were Washington’s Blog, milblogger Michael Yon, Andrew Breitbart’s Big Journalism, Tucker Carlson’s Daily Caller and Brian Maloney’s Radio Equalizer.

As always, if we missed anyone, drop us a line in the comments with your site URL; we’ll include in the next ratings the 1st week of April. The Alexa rankings were largely taken from March 6, 2010 and include several from March 7, 2010.

* #19 – 9,111 Confederate Yankee, Ace of Spades HQ, and Jawa Report, as well as other mu.nu blogs all combine for the same rating. Alexa treats these sites as one in its traffic rankings. Because these are all popular conservative sites, we’ll leave it like this with the note until Alexa distinguishes between them.

** #26 -The same holds true for First Things, The Anchoress, Gateway Pundit, Spengler, Secondhand Smoke, Evangel and Postmodern Conservative are all at First Things. All the above sites register an aggregate total like the mu.nu sites. Until Alexa distinguishes between the blogs, they’ll be ranked in the aggregate with this note.

# Michael Savage is part of World Net Daily and their traffic combine to form one total.

# Instapundit is part of the Pajamas Media site and both combine for the one total.

# Don Surber is part of the Charleston Daily Mail site and both combine for the one total.

# Big Hollywood is part of the Breitbart.com site and both combine for the one total.

## Big Journalism and the Daily Caller are both less than 3 months old, so their ratings are not nearly as high as they will be after they have all gotten a full three months under their belts. These two sites continue to experience quick jumps up the ladder.

DBKP Reports has released its ratings of the top 60 most popular Alternate News-Information websites on the Internet. Ratings are based on the sites’ 3-month average of Alexa worldwide traffic as ranked on February 27, 2010.

The ANI 60’s top five most popular sites is led by Dr. Bruce Maccabee, followed by Info Wars, Above Top Secret, Jeff Rense and Natural News. The top ten are rounded out by Prison Planet, Coast to Coast, Godlike Productions, Top Conspiracy Sites and David Icke.

Notes follow after the ratings.

NOTES:

* – What Really Happened has been moved from the Conservative 100 list to the ANI 60 list. It makes its initial appearance at #14.

* – If your website, or one that you frequent, was missed, drop us a note with the site’s URL at: mondoreb@gmail.com. The site will be added to our database, monitored and included in future ratings for which it qualifies. We’d like to say that early rating lists of this time inevitably exclude sites that were overlooked or unknown to us at the time of the lists’ compilation. This is not through any malicious intent and will be corrected on the list following when we first are made aware of it. Thanks in advance.

* – The Alternate News-Information 60 list will be expanded in the future to 100 sites.

* – The websites included on this list are sites which feature news and information not readily available in the traditional press and media. This qualification embraces a wide variety of both viewpoints and focus.

The ratings are based on Alexa traffic rankings 3-month average. All changes are calculated from last Conservative Blogs 100 listing.

If we missed anyone, drop us a line in the comments with your site URL; we’ll include in the next ratings, March 21. The Alexa rankings were largely taken from Feb 20, 2010 and include several from February 21, 2010. The Conservative Blogs 100 will normally be released the third Sunday of each month.

The list includes conservative and libertrarian blogs of interest.
These differs from the Conservative 100, in that it doesn’t contain the sites of large newspapers, news channels magazines or TV/radio personalities. The sites that appear on the Conservative Blogs 100 are primarily web-based entities.

The number one slot is held by The Drudge Report, followed Breitbart.com/Big Hollywood and World Net Daily (even though WND hosts radio talker, Michael Savage, on its site).

The top five is rounded out by Hot Air and Free Republic.

22 new blogs hit the list this period, led by Canada Free Press, NewsReal and Life News. Also several made it on for the first time on any of DBKP Top 100 lists, including Chris Muir’s popular cartoon, Day By Day, Jill Stanek and Angry White Dude.

This is a compilation of measurable traffic figures only. It does not pretend to allow for unmeasurable factors such as quality, how much enjoyment a reader may get from the site, etc. We compile the lists for comparison and informational purposes only. Because a site is busier and more popular does not make it “better” or “worse”. Just sayin’.

We get letters that begin “So-and-so is not really a conservative website, they are fill-in-the-blank.” There’s a good chance not everyone will agree with you. There’s a good chance that not everyone will disagree. While traffic ranks are objective, what does or does not constitute “conservative” (or progressive-liberal in our other ratings) is in the eye of the beholder.

Once we work the bugs out of the system, look for several other monthly ratings of various websites of interest.

The Conservative 100 will be updated approximately every two weeks.

UPDATE: In case new readers missed it, a comprehensive listing of conservative sites will be released 2-4 times/year. We monitor 500-600 conservative sites presently and are adding more every week.

UPDATE #2: This is a compilation of measurable traffic figures only. We’re proud to announce a bi-weekly rating of the Most Popular 100 Conservative blogs on the web, the Conservative Blogs 100. This is our first. The ratings are based on Alexa traffic rankings 3-month average.

If we missed anyone, drop us a line in the comments with your site URL; we’ll include in the next ratings around the 15th of February. The Alexa rankings were largely taken from January 30, 2010 and include several from January 31, 2010.

The Top 100 Politically Popular Conservative Blog list contains all blogs of interest to conservatives or with a conservative point of view. Several Libertarian blogs are also included, such as Reason and Freedom’s Phoenix.

The list differs from the Conservative 100, in that it doesn’t contain the sites of large newspapers, news channels or TV/radio personalities.

We had debated on whether to include the blogs of popular conservative magazines; for now, they remain–largely because of the blogs of NRO, the Weekly Standard, Reason, the American Spectator and Commentary are up-to-date and provide information that does not appear in their print editions.

The number one slot is held by The Drudge Report, followed Breitbart.com/Big Hollywood and World Net Daily (even though WND hosts radio talker, Michael Savage, on its site).

The top five is rounded out by Hot Air and Free Republic.

DBKP released its Conservative 100 list earlier today.
