‘”You are visiting one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Preserve it, enjoy your stay, take care.” John McCain’s voice greeting passengers arriving at Pitkin County Airport in Aspen, Colorado. At times it’s tough to be a celebrity or a politician. People talk about your weight, your clothes, your grammar, if your butt’s too big. It’s as if a giant magnifying scope is permanently affixed to your life. Take today, Senator McCain’s voice, that’s right, his voice, faces the chopping block at the Pitkin County Airport in Aspen, Colorado while Rush Limbaugh’s been having a field day doing McCain impressions on his radio show. Senator McCain’s “voice” is an issue today at a meeting in Aspen, Colorado on whether the local airport should shelf the Arizona Senator’s voiceovers, at least until after the election, to quell any suspicions that the airport is partisan. Meanwhile talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been having a field day impersonating the Senator’s voice in a not-so-flattering manner. McCain and other celebrities’ voices were recruited to make PA announcements in the airport by Pitkin County community relations Director Pat Bingham who thought of the idea last year. Since then several celebrities and locals’ voices [...]

“Pop the champagne, cue the music, let’s party! McCain has wrapped up the Republican nomination.” “Champagne? For McCain, are you kidding?” “How bout some Cold Duck, would that suffice?” “Why are you in the mood to celebrate?” “I thought we should, after all, McCain’s our man!” “McCain’s our man, true, tell me one thing McCain’s said this election that you can recall?” “Umm, I can’t remember anything McCain has said.” “Have you felt “inspired” by anything McCain has said?” “Ah, actually nothing I can recall.” “So let me get this straight, you want to celebrate the nomination of a guy whom you say does nothing to inspire you and you can’t remember a single thing he’s said the whole election? “True.” “Then why did you want to celebrate?” “Because all the fun and excitement is over on the Democrat’s side. I mean, it’s neck and neck between Obama and Hillary, all the twists and turns, the drama of da feet, the thrill of victory.” “You mean the “the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.” “Yeah, that’s it, the agony of da feet.
At a bar-be-que fund raiser held for Mike Huckabee today at his Texas ranch, actor Chuck Norris spoke out about why he made the decision not to back John McCain for the 2008 Republican candidate: “I didn’t pick John to support because I’m just afraid that the vice president would wind up taking over his job in that four-year presidency.” The 67-year-old Norris continued to list his reasons for not backing a candidate who will turn 72 in August: “So we need to find someone that can handle it for four years or eight years … that has the youth and vision and communication skills to make that work.” Norris served up barbeque while Huckabee played his bass guitar with his band, Capital Offense. It’s rather surprising to hear Norris’ “concern” over McCain’s “advanced” age as Norris is only five years younger. Norris is 28 years older than his current wife, Gena O’Kelly. Twins Dakota and Danilee were born in 2001, which means Norris will be in his late 70′s when the two kids graduate from High School. Chuck on staying fit: “The reason I have to work out so hard to stay in good shape now is because Gena [...]

Today we’re taking a closer look at Mitt Romney’s astrology in relation to the upcoming 2008 Presidential election. Romney just won the Michigan Primary with McCain coming in second. How will Romney’s future fare further down the astrological line? According to Celebrity Astrology, Mitt Romney is a Pisces with his moon in Scorpio and Gemini his rising sign. This Pisces is a dreamer, a peacemaker and a natural politician. There seems to be two different birth times used for Romney, one is at 9:51 AM EST and the other is 12 noon, the time used when a person’s time of birth is unknown. Astrologer Phillip Brown at Astro Future Trends looks at Romney’s chances on Feb. 5, the date of the Super Tuesday primaries. Brown has used the 12 Noon time for Romney’s chart: Mitt Romney: Saturn on Feb. 5 will be opposing his unassuming Pisces Mars, indicating difficulties and blocked efforts. It’s hard to see this one taking off on Feb. 5. Source - Astro Future Trends From Acumind: Mitt has been riding the crest of the wave of Pluto sesqu’ing natal Pluto, feeling fully in power, and now, at the end of 2007, it’s starting to show the [...]

”I am not gay. I never have been gay.” Senator Larry Craig at a news conference, August 27, 2007 The American Civil Liberties Union may become Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig’s best friend and worst nightmare, if the ACLU brief filed Tuesday with the Minnesota Court of Appeals, in support of the attempt to appeal Craig’s August 8 conviction of Disorderly Conduct, is successful. The appeal, if accepted by the court, shoots down Craig’s attempts to deny he was in an airport bathroom stall playing footsies with an undercover cop to signal he was looking for sex. This would also further undercut Craig’s denials that he is not homosexual. Charges that have been rampant since it was announced in August that he had been caught in an undercover bathroom sting and subsequently plead guilty to Disorderly Conduct without any advice from counsel. According to the Associated Press, Craig was arrested on June 11 and originally charged with interference with privacy, which dovetails with the brief the ACLU filed with the court. The ACLU is citing a Minnesota Supreme Court ruling made 38 years ago that found “people who have sex in closed stalls in public restrooms “have a reasonable expectation [...]

Image [moca] Now that the Iowa Caucus is over we thought we’d put together a more “concise” astrological reading on the winners, Mike Huckabee and Barack Obama. Today it’s Huckabee’s turn to be “astrologisized.” Considered “unscientific,” astrology is considered “the oldest science known to humankind”. According to Astrology.com: “Astrology is the study of the interactions among the Stars and the Planets, based on intricate mathematical cycles. ” Contrary to its stereotype as “New Age,” astrology is a science that predates both astrology and psychology. The earliest astrological records date back to 1645 BC in Babylon. Some might argue that astrology is an “art” instead of a science yet both Copernicus and Galileo were practicing astrologers. From Nancy’s Blog: Mike Huckabee, folksy Christian leader and the new darling of the hyper-religious right-wing base, has recently surged in the polls. I attribute this to transiting Pluto currently trine his Venus/Mars/progressed Pluto conjunction (28 Leo) from November 2 through December 21. In addition, transiting Jupiter is trine his Sun (01 Virgo) for a few days through December 22. With transiting Mars (28 Gemini) sextile this same Venus/Mars/Pluto combination during the first 5 days of January, it seems likely he will win the January [...]

Were the rumors that Ron Paul was dissed by FOX News untrue? A drumbeat of faux outrage from the Ron Paul campaign is gaining momentum across the web. “Ron Paul’s been dumped from the FOX Republican Debate,” bloggers beat out on their drums. Where did this message originate from? Did FOX really dump Paul from a debate, forum, or Sunday Brunch?
What would we do without all the Ron Paul Parodies? The Blimpenburg Blitzkrieg Disaster is one such example. Critics can say what they like about the Ron Paul campaign and the Paul supporters, but they are a highly creative group. Innovative fund-raising ideas such as the Ron Paul “Money Bomb” and “Boston Tea Party” have catapulted the campaign into the top tier of fund-raising in the last several months. And, these ideas have raised their money from ordinary citizens, rather than PACs and bundled contributions. The average donation to the Paul campaign during one recent fund-raising effort amounted to $50–a far cry from campaigns which have depended on fewer contributors donating the maximum allowed $2300 a piece. The campaign’s latest new idea is the use of a blimp to help combat the biggest problem Paul supporters have: national name recognition. As with any new idea, as soon as it becomes well-known, it spurs additional new ideas in the form of parody. The video below prompted many comments such as the following: ” I’m a Ron Paul supporter… But that was freaking funny LmAO” “I thought it was funny too. Seriously though, I am in Iowa working my ass off to [...]
