The cooler earth is happier about the news than the man-made climate changers (MMCC) Man-made climate-changers (MMCC) aren’t going to let a little thing like falling temperatures upset their apocalyptic hopes for Mother Earth and the attendant dreams of more taxes, regulation and government control. Even though global tempertures will drop slightly this year as a result of the cooling effects of the La Nina current in the Pacific, MMCCers are already spinning the bad news–for them–into more predictions of coming man-made doom. The World Meteorological Organization’s secretary-general, Michel Jarraud, told the BBC it was likely that La Nina would continue into the summer. This would mean global temperatures have not risen since 1998, prompting some to question climate change theory. But experts say we are still clearly in a long-term warming trend – and they forecast a new record high temperature within five years. The WMO points out that the decade from 1998 to 2007 was the warmest on record. Since the beginning of the 20th Century, the global average surface temperature has risen by 0.74C. Researchers say the uncertainty in the observed value for any particular year is larger than these small temperature differences. What matters, they say, [...]

There is enough oil in the North Slope of Alaska to provide for America’s energy needs for the next 200 years. left-North Dakota oil fields are booming, according to one report. America’s untapped oil reserves are vast and waiting. There is enough oil in the North Slope of Alaska to provide for America’s energy needs for the next 200 years. Before making Americans jump through the tiresome hoops of more government regulation in the pursuit of energy conservation, controls should be lifted that keep American companies from exploiting oil reserves which sit below the surface of the USA. America is sitting on top of a super massive 200 billion barrel Oil Field that could potentially make America Energy Independent and until now has largely gone unnoticed. Thanks to new technology the Bakken Formation in North Dakota could boost America’s Oil reserves by an incredible 10 times, giving western economies the trump card against OPEC’s short squeeze on oil supply and making Iranian and Venezuelan threats of disrupted supply irrelevant. These deposits are stark proof that the U.S. is not running out of oil; the sky is not falling. In the next 30 days the USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) will release [...]

Maybe the Canucks could hire this guy to referee… Record snowfall, snow cover and cold records set throughout the world likely won’t dampen the enthusiasm of the man-made climate changers. Neither will one more story frost the heat of man-made climate change frenzies. Reuters reports that across Canada, incidents of “snow rage” are breaking out as people lose their cool over the huge amounts of snow. Disputes over parking spaces and snow removal have been been reported especially heated in Quebec, where police have been called to an alarming number of arguments about snow blowing from one property to another. About a dozen turned violent. Recent Canadian winters have been mild but this one looks set to break all-time records for snow. One storm last weekend dumped 23 inches on the capital Ottawa and 19 inches on Quebec City, which has already received 210 inches this year. The drifts outside some houses are 12 feet and higher. Last Sunday, a man in an upscale Quebec City neighborhood became so upset a woman from a snow removal service was putting snow on his yard that he shouted at her and then took a shovel and hit the window of the vehicle [...]

Pixelaneous #34 The news just came out this week that Al Gore has made over $37 million since he left office in 2000. His net worth in the last 7 years reportedly went from under $2 million to over $100 million–much of it from pimping the dangers of man-made climate change. Gore’s speaking fees were reported as $175,000 a pop–and up. This is up near Watertown NY …talk about some snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One area had 146 inches of snow in 2 weeks !!!!! 146 inches of snow! That’s over 12 feet of snow. The last pimp for global warming tried to leave Watertown, but was snowed in–last we heard. Will anyone make a movie about Watertown’s run-in with man-made climate change? I have a feeling that Algore would get his ass kicked around here. by RidesAPaleHorse images: RAPH Back to DBKP/Death by 1000 Papercuts Front Page. Also posted at DBKP at Blogger.

According to scientists the Greenland ice shelves may not be melting from global warming but from the recent discovery of super hot magma beneath a thin layer of the Earth’s crust. In recent years, Greenland’s ice has been melting more and flowing faster into the sea—a record amount of ice melted from the frozen mass this summer, according to recently released data—and Earth’s rising temperatures are suspected tobe the main culprit. But clues to a new natural contribution to the melt arose when scientists discovered a thin spot in the Earth’s crust under the northeast corner of the Greenland IceSheet where heat from Earth’s insides could seep through, scientists will report here this week at a meeting of the American Geophysical Union. “The behavior of the great ice sheets is an important barometer of global climate change,” said lead scientist Ralph von Frese of Ohio State University. “However, to effectively separate and quantify human impacts on climate change, we must understand the natural impacts too.” [1] Apparently this “hotspot” of hot magma sitting just beneath the northeast corner of Greenland is responsible for the record amount of ice melted. This is contrary to the “popular” Global Warming dogma where man [...]

[image:nasaexplores] The next shortage for the United States that some predict? Oil? Gold? Food? How about water. Those living in parts of many western states already know this as old news, but it’s something new to many parts of the country. Three states: California, Texas and Forida account for over a quarter of all the water used in the U.S. The government projects that as many as 36 states could face water shortages in the next 5 years. More from the story by Brian Skoloff, at the AP: An epic drought in Georgia threatens the water supply for millions. Florida doesn’t have nearly enough water for its expected population boom. The Great Lakes are shrinking. Upstate New York’s reservoirs have dropped to record lows. And in the West, the Sierra Nevada snowpack is melting faster each year. Across America, the picture is critically clear – the nation’s freshwater supplies can no longer quench its thirst. The government projects that at least 36 states will face water shortages within five years because of a combination of rising temperatures, drought, population growth, urban sprawl, waste and excess. “Is it a crisis? If we don’t do some decent water planning, it could be,” [...]
