Mitt Romney: Opponents Aid Obama by Attacking Romney’s Success
Conservatism 101: D.I.Y. Political Education
Da Tool Guy goes where most fear to tread: a defense of Mitt Romney. Romney has been attacked from all angles and some of them haven’t been very fair; to no one’s surprise the media has had its share of the culprits. Romney has many faults–but being successful shouldn’t be considered one of them. All that and a run-down of sorts for New Hampshire are in this week’s Conservatism 101.

CONSERVATISM 101:
#61 – New Hampshire

Much as last week, the New Hampshire primaries were under way as I wrote this. These were perhaps more determinative than the Iowa Caucuses were, if only because caucuses favor candidates with rabid followers.
As they heat up, however, I did wish to address some attacks being directed at former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
It’s being reported all over the Mainstream Media that Romney said “I like … firing people.”
Well yes he said that — sort of.
In context what he actually said in context of health care and people having their own health insurance was; “I like being able to fire people who provide services to me. … You know, if someone doesn’t give me a good service, then I want to say, ‘I’m going to go get someone else to provide that service to me.’”
This is a reasonable statement which has been taken completely out of context in order to paint Romney as a corporate fatcat who likes firing people — by his fellow Republicans.
Do not misunderstand, I’m not a big fan of Romney. I like him only marginally better than I do Ron Paul.
However these attacks are patently unfair, and only give the Obama campaign ammunition to use against him should he, as seems likely, be the eventual nominee.
Among the constant attacks is that during his time at Bain Capital, an investment capital firm which specialized in buying failing companies and returning them to profitability, he often had to lay off workers.

What they don’t say is how many jobs he managed to save by making the hard decision to lay off some workers so that everyone didn’t lose their job, or how many jobs were eventually created when those companies were making money again.
Basically, what’s happening is the candidates for the party which is supposed to be all about business and capitalism are acting like sharks at an invitation-only feeding frenzy and ripping Romney apart for being — a successful capitalist.
Hypocrites.
The other candidates are engaging in the same sort of class warfare rhetoric they decry when used by the administration and its Praetorian Guard in the MSM.
If they wish to attack Romney, and it’s reasonable to do so, he is the front runner. There are plenty of legitimate places to do so.
You can start with his continued support of Romneycare, the failed health care “reform” which was the blueprint for Obamacare. Or his varying positions on many conservative issues.
However, under no circumstances should we be attacking a candidate for being a successful businessman. Nor should we be using the same sorts of tactics, such as taking remarks completely out of context, as the MSM routinely employs. There’s plenty of perfectly legitimate ammunition on all the candidates available without stooping so low.
President Barack Obama is vulnerable as no president has been since Jimmy Carter — which does not mean he cannot win. If we wish to see him replaced next January, we must not make his life any easier by making illegitimate attacks the MSM will parrot to stir up an issue where none exists.

Republicans are morons, period.
They stand for nothing, and will do or say anything to try and get elected.
Not one of your candidates is worthy of public office.
To top it off, you have witless yokels like “da tool” here who all claim to know what “Conservatism” is all about.
Hint: There isn’t a real “Conservative” running under the Republican banner, and there hasn’t been one in decades.
Instead, what you have is a bunch of brain dead right wing zealots who think politics is religion, and that the “Bible” is whatever Rush Limbaugh brays about in his Oxycontin haze.
You richly deserve the wood shedding you idiots are poised to receive in the election.
Maybe then “da tool” can return to yelling things from his porch.
