While Alabama deals with the aftermath of the April 27th tornado outbreak including the massive F5 tornado that devastated areas of Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, news of a tornado that hit the small community of Ringgold, Georgia, killing 8 people. Videos (below) of the supercell storm and tornado and the damage caused by the twister may indicate the tornado may have been on the same scale as the ‘Tuscaloosa’ tornado in regards to the force and size of the tornado. The mile wide, 200 mph winds Tuscaloosa tornado touched down on the Mississippi-Alabama state line then hit two heavily populated areas–Tuscaloosa and Birmingham–before the tornado headed northeast traveling 218 miles, the longest running tornado on the ground in U.S. history. The estimated time the tornado was on the ground, ‘almost two hours’.

According to a news report from AFP, the Ringgold tornado traveled 112 miles before it ‘dumped a sign into the next state’ in Knoxville, Tennessee.
AFP:
RINGGOLD, Georgia — A powerful tornado which ripped across a small town in Georgia, swept up everything in its past and then roared north into Tennessee, finally dumping a store sign more than 112 miles away.
Linda Summitt of Knoxville, Tennessee, could not believe her eyes when she walked into her front yard on Thursday morning and found the sign for the Remco Business Center.
But it wasn’t the stray sign that really caught her attention. It was where it had come from — some 112 miles (134 kilometers) to the south from the town of Ringgold, Georgia.
It was a 4X8 cardboard “FOR LEASE” sign from Remco, which is based in Ringgold, near the Georgia-Tennessee border, which was devastated by a deadly storm and tornado late Wednesday.
