Geologist Jim Berkland Predicts Quake for US West Coast Between March 19 to 26th
'Top Seismic Window', full moon, equinoctial tide, fish and animal behavior may predict earthquakes
Update: If you live in Northern California and the coastal areas of the Northwest, more info on the catastrophic 9.0 earthquake and tsunami experts predict will occur in within the next 200 years. Jim Berkland’s prediction, a major earthquake in California between March 19 and the 26th.
Will an earthquake strike the coast of California this Saturday, March 19, the date of the full moon, the Super Moon?

‘Jim Berkland has a track record of predicting earthquakes like the 1989 Loma Prieta shaker in San Francisco for the World Series.’

‘Now, according to Berkland, we’re due for another one. How does he know? The gravitational pull of the moon is at it’s strongest in many years, with the “Super Moon”, caused by the closest approach of the moon. Also, there have been fish in massive numbers washing up on the beaches of California, caused by disruptions in the magnetic field of the earth.’
Jim Berkland is a former USGS geologist who, unlike seismologists and the USGS, believes he can predict when an earthquake will occur. Berkland’s track record, Berkland predicted the 1989 World Series Earthquake. Curiously missing from Berkland’s earthquake prediction ‘track record’, Berkland’s prediction of the March 11, 9.0 earthquake in Japan and the February, 2010, 8.8 Chile earthquake. (We were unable to find any prior predictions from Berkland on the Japan and Chile quakes.)
If a strong quake strikes the west coast between March 19 and the 26th during Berkland’s ‘Seismic Window’, Berkland will get credit from us for predicting the quake.
The Before It’s News report, based on Berkland’s appearance on FOX Business News channel Neil Cavuto show. We watched the video [below] of Berkland’s interview. Berkland didn’t predict an earthquake in California on Saturday. Berkland predicted, based on several factors, an earthquake will strike the West Coast sometime between March 19 and the 26th. Berkland focused on the massive fish kill at Redondo Beach in California which occurred on March 8 and the ‘massive fish sweep’ in Mexico, and the recent sighting of whales ‘close to San Diego’.
Berkland, appearing on FOX Business News Neil Cavuto show:
‘The months of October, March, and April are the three most devastating earthquakes in terms of damage in the San Francisco Bay area, in history. And, we’re having on the 19th of this month not only the full moon, but within an hour the closest approach of the moon until the year 2016. And the next day is the equinoctial tide bringing together three of the maximum tide raising forces and we know about the ocean tides but there’s also an earth tide and there’s a tide in the groundwater and all of these help to release built up strain and cause earthquakes.’
Two days before the 9.0 Japan earthquake and tsunami we posted March’s Super Moon: More Earthquakes, Weird Weather, Volcanic Eruptions?, a post which reported astrologer Richard Nolle’s predictions for March’s Super Moon. ‘But that would seem to imply that we could be looking at a very imminent event in the United States within the next week or two? Is that right?’
Berkland:
‘Yes, what I call a ‘Seismic Window’, the top seismic window year is developing between the 19th and the 26th of this month.’
Berkland, when asked by Cavuto of ‘What type of quake, disruption, or disturbance, what would that be in California, Oregon, or Washington?’, Berkland responded:
‘Well, if it was in the Northwest and Cascadia Trench like we had in 1700 that would be a 9 magnitude quake. I’m not predicting that. But I’m just saying we’ve just had a massive fish kill, maybe a million fish died at Redondo Beach (CA). They had massive fish sweep in, in Mexico. We just had a bunch of whales come in close to San Diego.’

The recent 6.5 earthquake that struck northern California occurred in a unique geological area known as the Medocino Triple Junction, an area where three faults, including a subduction zone, converge and where seismologists and geologists predict a 9.0 earthquake with the potential to cause severe destruction and the loss of thousands of lives could occur in the next two hundred years.
One of the factors in Berkland’s earthquake prediction, ‘changes in the magnetic field’ and animal behavior.

‘When you have events like that, what does that generally mean, what’s going on in the waters?’
Berkland:
‘Changes in the magnetic field that often precede large earthquakes. Most animals have the mineral magnetite in their bodies including people but it causes Homing Pigeons to enable them to get home. Just before big quakes they often can’t get home, there’s a delay factor. And so we look for those kind of things. Just before the World Series Quake (1989) there was a very unusual beaching of rare, beached whales in the ocean beach at San Francisco then just after that the equally rare Pygmy Sperm Whale washed up at Santa Cruz within about 5 miles of the epicenter of the World Series quake and that kind of beaching had never occurred before nor since. So we’re looking for strange fish coming in from deep water to the shallow water, wild animals coming into cities, I used to just scoff at these kinds of things because I was a mainstream geologist until I found out that earthquakes are fitting a pattern. The big earthquake in the Indian Ocean followed the most massive beachings of whales in New Zealand and Australia and Tasmania and then within a couple of days they had an 8.3 in south of New Zealand then came the 9.1 in the Indian Ocean with the big tsunami on the very day of the full moon. The previous big quake and tsunami was in Alaska was a 9.2 magnitude event on the day of the full moon on the 27th of March in 1964.’

Really? Your magical sky-daddy is kind of a jerk. A little heads-up would keep a lot of good people and innocent children from horrible death, injury, trauma, and suffering. Though I guess someone that can’t wait to burn billions of people for eternity while magically regenerating their nerves for maximum torture value is enough of a sadist to enjoy this.

I wish you’d leave God out of this puzzle.Us,low humans, are trying to decipher God’s creation through scientific approach as well as we know how. The magnetic forces of God’s creation are part of the possible explanaion on predicting natural causes leading to future events. There’s nothing miraculous simply scientific observations leading to logical conclusions that are in the realm of possibilities. So, maybe we won’t be so low as humans if we use our God given logical brain to its highest capability.

My hope and prayers are with those people in Japan who are still suffering the affects of the quake and I pray that when the time comes we will be ready to withstand what is before us. I urge you to prepare as best you can with food, water and medical supplies for it is best to have them and not need them then need and not have. What Jim Berkland stated is also found in the Bible just in case you don’t believe I pray we all get closer to God because when it is all said and done He is all we have in this lonely miserable planet.

This guy’s a flake. Where was his prediction of the 8.9 that just hit Japan? He comes out after that to predict other ones. Hey, I predict that the sun will come up tommorrow. Well, there was a 4+ quake in Canada last week, where was he? And the fact that Fox has him on is further evidence that he’s a nut.

There are hundreds of well qualified geophysicists who use reasonable models in their work. Even so, they are unable to pinpoint dates for earthquakes in advance. And for a good reason. Why give the podium to this guy? Because he is sensational, and real science isn’t that?

Jim is correct about a Mega Quake occuring but his timing is off by several months. I had a vision that an earthquake up to a 10.0 on the Richter scale will hit the coast of California. The Mega Quake is likely to occur this year (2011) but definitely by the end of next year (2012). WARNING!
