California Missile Case Closed as Jet Contrail? Not Exactly

‘Most likely’ a jet contrail?

According to the media and the Dept. of Defense the case is closed on last Monday’s California ‘missile’ event, the culprit ‘most likely’ an aircraft. In reality, if you closely read the media reports, the Pentagon email sent out to the press used the word ‘likely’ three times and the phrase ‘most likely’. ‘Most likely’ not exactly a definitive ‘It wasn’t a missile’. For posterity, the Pentagon’s response courtesy of FOX News:

The Department of Defense said Wednesday that it was satisfied the event was likely caused by an airplane.

“With all the information that we have gathered over the last day and a half about this condensation trail off the coast of southern California on Monday night, both within the DoD and other U.S. government agencies, we have no information to suggest this was anything other than a contrail caused by an aircraft,” said Col. David Lapan, a Pentagon spokesman.

“As stated yesterday, NORAD and USNORTHCOM determined that there was no threat to the U.S. homeland.”

Lapan said that in the mind of the DoD this case is closed.

Lapan said the government looked at lots of data sources other than the CBS news tape. He would not get into the details of what those data sources were, but said that evidence helped determine this was most likely an aircraft. But most importantly, it was the response from all other government agencies saying they did not launch anything that convinced them this was likely an aircraft.

“The Department of Defense, after gathering info over the last 36 hours from within the Department of Defense and other U.S. government agencies, is satisfied the contrail was likely caused by an aircraft.”

In the Scientific American article Out to Launch?: “Mystery Missile” off California Coast Was Probably Just an Airliner, Pentagon Says, the info that not all the ‘experts’ agree the missile was an aircraft:

But Theodore Postol, a professor of science, technology and international security at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is not yet convinced. The Pentagon, he wrote in an e-mail, has provided no detailed information to support the aircraft claim. “One of their jobs is to provide air surveillance for the country, and they should be able to provide a convincing analysis supported by data for their conclusion,” said Postol, who furnished photographs of the mystery contrail along with remarkably similar pictures of solid-propellant missile launches. “I do not know what to think at this point,” he said, “but one thing is for sure, the Pentagon has not provided a plausible explanation of the observed event.”

There’s been numerous reports which have relied on ‘jet contrail’ evidence to debunk the California ‘missile’ story. The following info from an anonymous source. Info which contradicts the jet contrail claim. To refresh our memory of the event, the news footage filmed by KCBS aerial photographer Gil Leyvas. According to Leyvas, who has been covering the skies of LA as an aerial news photographer for eleven years, the object was a missile and not a jet.

Observations from an anonymous source which contradict the jet aircraft contrail claim:

The video footage of the missile in California is authentic. The contrail, said to be coming from the horizon and moving toward the shore of CA, is bogus. Visibility (for one) to the horizon is roughly 50 miles at best before the curvature of the earth makes it impossible to see beyond that while at ground level.

The contrail is said to be from an aircraft. Bogus info again.

A contrail can only exist when an aircraft is at, or above, 22,000 feet. This is due to condensation from the cool air moving around the hot areas of the aircraft. (engines). When the hot air hits the cool air it creates a vapor trail (contrail). A contrail below 22,000 feet isn’t possible unless the surrounding air is at, or below, -20F (Does not include wind chill factor). The aircraft must be moving at the speed of sound (768 mph). Also due to the lower pressure in altitude.

Next observation is that the contrail is from a 2 stage rocket.

If you look closely at the contrail at mid point the ‘contrail’ breaks off from a ‘fat’ trail to a more ‘skinny’ trail. This is due to multiple booster rockets breaking off and moving to the main booster engine which is a single rocket. (For verification look up NASA shuttle launches.) The contrail is moving upward and not at a slant or straight line. Careful observation will show that should the contrail have been further out to sea with the curvature of the earth and the setting sun, the lower part of the contrail would have been a much richer orange/red color. The video shown does not contain this.

*Numerous people witnessed the rocket moving upward into the skyline.

*The rocket boosters’ fire was seen at the base of the rocket.

Other so called experts claimed the ‘shiny’ or bright area was due to the sun bouncing off the reflective part of the aircraft. This is crazy talk, a plane moving at that speed and that far into the atmosphere would have had too much vapor around it to have a reflection from the sun. The ‘reflection’ could only be seen by people in a specific area since the outer part of the plane would act as a CONVEX reflective area (Research CONVEX LENS for more info on the reflection material).

The front of the aircraft (the nose) is in cool air with the cooler air moving along the outer frame. As the nose is pushing through the air and creating drag the aircraft would be less reflective due to the force of the wind-particles including dust which still exist that far into the atmosphere. Even though the aircraft is moving faster than the speed of sound (768 mph) it still hits dust regardless of the broken barrier. The visible reflective area of the plane would have to be hit just right in order to shine sunlight down at the right angle to show that bright (said) reflective light.

*The bright burning rocket booster would produce a visible light from any angle.

The California ‘missile’ event occurred at sunset in California on Monday. The following day in the early dawn skies over New York City a CBS news helicopter filmed what the news casters dubbed a ‘Fire in the Sky’ object. In the CBS News report, the object dubbed a jet contrail by an unnamed ‘top astronomer’.

Mystery object caught on film streaking across New York skyline Tuesday morning by CBS news helicopter

Chopper 2 Films Red-Hot Streak Moving Behind Emp. State Bldg

According to the unnamed ‘top astronomer’, the glowing streak in the sky, a jet contrail. What’s rather curious about the two events which occurred on separate coasts less than 24 hours apart, the rubber stamping of both events as ‘jet contrails’. Both events filmed by news helicopters, people who work in the skies above LA and NYC. People who are familiar with….. jet contrails. If the LA and NYC news crews weren’t familiar with jet contrails, we would have seen earlier news reports of ‘missiles’ and mysterious objects cropping up on the news on a daily basis. Hypothetically, if the government wanted any further reports to cease and desist the easiest method, ridicule in the form of ‘Silly reporters, they filmed what was obviously a jet contrail! Again.’

After the California ‘missile’ video aired there were numerous individuals who commented at news sites who were adamant they had seen a missile or rocket contrail. Individuals who claimed they had previously seen missile and/or rocket launches. These same individuals stated they knew the difference between a missile/rocket contrail and a jet contrail. It wasn’t until 36 hours after the California ‘missile’ incident the key ‘experts’, the Dept. of Defense, stated in an email the contrail in California was ‘most likely’ from an aircraft. ‘Most likely’ not exactly a definitive statement.

  1. [...] Contrail yes. But NOT of an airplane. That much I an positive. Airplanes do not have a visible orange fire coming from the rear of the aircraft. At least not unless they are on fire. And nobody declared an emergency for an engine fire, now did they? Take a look at the video. Closely. It's not an airplane. California Missile Case Closed as Jet Contrail? here’s an idea what may have been seen in the launch and return videos on this page. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/04/23/2881090.htm

just an idea, but they have been trying to keep the launches a secret. I know for a fact the launched it at least once from Kennedy space center, but after that, no body knows for sure what has been done with it or to it.

Please go to http://www.contrailscience.com This was an airplane, and the evidence is located here. There’s a reason they’re called rockets people, they move fast. The object in the video is moving way too slow to be a missile.

You seem to be passing on the fact that a missile travels at a tremendous rate of speed, not a few hundred mph. One pilot said he tracked it for ten minutes… a missile could go 1/3 the way around the world in ten minutes.

I think that some of the commenters here are missing your point of the government saying it was ‘likey’ a contrail from an aircraft.

Obviously if the contrail was from an aircraft it could be identified, which has not been done. Various ‘experts’ have popped up saying the contrail was from US Airways #808 and to a lesser extent UPS #902. Trust me, if either of these flights ‘fit the bill’ the government would have said so. Obviously they do not…

This has been proven to be a missle,I don’t know why this has not info has not been talked about

    http://www.disclose.tv/forum/missile-launch-solved-t35776.html

Download the pdf from the link yourself,
on page 55 you will clearly see that there was in fact missle testing that day in that area.
Question is why did they not admit this since day one.
Seems a lot easier, than the “not sure /plane story”

Contrails usually only last a few seconds and then disappear. In rare conditions they will last for a few minutes.

However, there is a massive, multi-nation, cooperative experiment in stratospheric aerosol geo-engineering that has been going on for over a decade. It’s not a big secret, it’s just not broadly publicized. We don’t want to alarm the alarmists and we prefer to send conspiracy theorists down false trails so they don’t find out what we’re really up to–until there is no turning back. In this case, when the Earth’s atmosphere, air, water, and viable food crops are so far altered everyone will be dependent on we who are in total control.

Unless you study the sky each and every day, and research every viable trail of information and dis-information, you are complicit in ushering in a strange new world.
