Koran Burning Outrage: Saudi Government Shreds Confiscated Bibles
According to news reports, the Obama administration is ‘concerned’ about a planned September 11 Koran burning by the Dove World Outreach Centre, in Gainesville, Florida, by Pastor Terry Jones. Koran burning, apparently a far more controversial than Saudi Arabia confiscating Bibles and arresting individuals who have more than one Bible with a penalty which could mean jail time or a public lashing.
What happens to the Bibles confiscated by the Saudi government?
According to sources, the Bibles are shredded. People caught inside Saudi Arabia who have more than one Bible, arrested. The penalty, lashing. Saudi Arabia ruled by Shariah law, laws based on the interpretation of the Koran. The outrage from the Obama administration on the issue of the Saudi government confiscating Bibles owned by Christians, people arrested then sentenced to a public lashing: Zero, zilch, nada.

Saudi authorities do not permit criticism of Islam or the royal family. The government prohibits the public practice of religions other than Islam. Non-Muslims suspected of violating these restrictions have been jailed. Homosexual activity is considered to be a criminal offense and those convicted may be sentenced to lashing, prison, or death.
If you happen to be a Christian homosexual caught carrying a Bible or wearing a Star of David in Saudi Arabia, you’re doubly doomed.

However, importing larger quantities can carry severe penalties as it will be viewed that it is your intention to convert others.

The Huffington Post reported Obama press secretary Robert Gibb’s response to the press query of whether the President of the United States had bowed to the Saudi King:

The online Travel Etiquette website for Saudi Arabia said handshakes are common greetings between members of the same sex.
Back the issue of Koran burning and the Saudi government, a government which confiscates Bibles and arrests people who are caught inside of Saudi Arabia with more than one Bible. The Bibles, shredded, the person arrested potentially facing a public lashing or Shariah jail time.
This week, Danny Nalliah, an evangelical pastor born in Sri Lanka, who during the 1990s, spent two years in Saudi Arabia, in an interview said:
“It’s a very well-known fact that if you have a Bible at customs when you enter the airport, and if they find the Bible, that the Bible is taken and put in the shredder.”
“If you have more than one Bible you will be taken into custody and if you have a quantity of Bibles you will be given 70 lashes for sure – you could even be executed.”
Another witness, a friend of his, a fellow Christian in Saudi Arabia, reported about a Catholic nun, who was in a transit lounge at the airport in Jeddah – the gateway to Mecca, used by millions of Hajj pilgrims each year – when at a custom desk she experienced an ungracious incident.
“They opened her bag, went through her prayer book, put the prayer book through the shredder … took the crucifix off her neck and smashed it, tormented her for many minutes.”

Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Nato’s secretary-general, also criticised the proposed burning.
“I strongly condemn that … I think such actions are in a strong contradiction with all of the values we stand for and fight for,” he told reporters before a meeting with Obama in Washington.

In 1996, the London based newspaper Al Quds Al Arabi published a fatwa, a “declaration of war”, written by Osama Bin Laden. Bin Laden’s first fatwa, Bin Laden’s title:
“Declaration of War against the Americans Occupying the Land of the Two Holy Places.”
Read Bin Laden’s fatwa, a declaration of war in which Bin Laden cites, numerous times, the Koran.

Really?….REALLY?? Uh…Gibbsy…our troops are ALREADY “in harms way” and the ROE that your “president” has set down makes their job even harder. Burning the Qur’an is a dumb idea that harkens back to WWII Germany but we do have a First Amendment that allows for the burning and desecration of our flag, religious articles and anything else that “offends” someone so what is it about the Qur’an that is so off limits?
If there really was “concern” about how the troops would come under increased attack, then turn them loose. Untie their hands and let them do the job that a military is trained to do and that is kill the enemy and break things.

Vi, we have evolved, and let’s hope ‘they do too’. My perspective, one guy in the U.S. planned to burn Korans which is thoroughly offensive. The reaction: worldwide outrage at the man, and, at America. The threat our troops will face even more harm than the current harm they already face every day. I compared the reaction of the world and our government to the absolute lack of reaction to a foreign government, Saudi Arabia, arresting people who have more than one Bible, more than a lack of ‘tolerance’. The question of what the Saudi government does with the confiscated Bibles, which by the way, are considered sacred to Christians. I compared the “outrage” over the proposed Koran burning which didn’t happen, even so, Muslims in Afghanistan are currently rioting, chanting “Death to America”. Not the first time they’ve rioted in Afghanistan and chanted “Death to America”.

Let’s get back to the subject of Bibles in Saudi Arabia. According to several sources, including the U.K. government, read the post again, people traveling to Saudi Arabia are only allowed to carry one Bible. Our State Department travel website warns people to not talk about religion other than Islam or they might be arrested when they travel to Saudi Arabia, a country ruled by Shariah law.
People in Saudi who are caught with more than one Bible are arrested, their Bibles confiscated.
Aside from the horrific fact individuals in Saudi Arabia are arrested and punished when carrying more than one Bible, there’s the issue of what happens to the Bibles which are confiscated. Since you know the Bibles aren’t shredded perhaps you could inform our readers what happens to the Bibles?

I want to thank you for the educational views of the Koran. I have been, I guess you could say, shelted when it came to this religion. After moving to a city in Arizona where there is a lot of followers to the Islam faith and seen and heard the difference in culture. As a woman, I have seen the looks they have giving me when I speak. The snide remarks with what I wear. I work in a business atmosphere. I have even been told I am not to speak to them. So of course the BITCH came out in me and told them that I was the resurrected females that they had scrutinized in all their lives and their ancestors lives. That I am here to make sure they know that women as well as men are created equal in all parts. If they do not like this there is nothing that is keeping them in my country. I have seen the burning of this bible in the news and my belief is this. If they are allowed to shred a bible BURN our flag, then why cant we in our own FREE country where we have the freedom of speech and freedom of religion. BUT of course there is always a rebutal for what happens with ones actions. These people have no idea what could happen to our troops that are fighting this war. I must say as well. If this Islam community can show pictures that win ART shows the PISS CHRIST photo. What controversy would there be if I myself as a woman took a picture of myself with their COW GOD in my mouth with wording around the bottom that says WHERES THE BEEF. Of course be called racist and linched mob form where would my president have my back during that time. I dont give a flying hell what their bible means I know how they treat people other religions and people of different race, ethnics, and of sex. I consider them miserable bastards that if it were up to me. I would love to see them all mass suicide themselves in one big gathering in the middle of there HOME land NOT MINE. good riddings and good luck finding your 72 virgins. I think some proof reading is in order.
I don’t recall an attack on the WTC, Pentagon or planned attack on the Whitehouse in 1981???
And I agree with a previous poster…what sources? You would think if the stories were credible you would post the source.

I noted the attack in 1981 was an analogy. I posted links to the U.K. government, our State Department and a travel advisor website. Websites which stated the facts: You’re only allowed to bring one Bible into Saudi Arabia. The State Dept. advisory you could get arrested if you talk about another religion other than Islam. The laws in Saudi Arabia including the law if you’re caught with more than one Bible, you’ll be arrested, potentially jailed and perhaps, flogged. Religious symbols which aren’t Muslim, confiscated by the Saudi government. Do some research and follow the links. The “sources” you stated weren’t in the post.

Yes many Muslim countries are socially/religiously
restrictive. This is clear to all.
That does Not mean everyone in that country agrees
with those rules…
or that all Muslims who are citizens in
Western Nations want those
rules imported to their new countries.
It also does not mean that these restrictive
countries will not evolve.
Lets Look at our Own History.
At our founding, a mere 200plus years ago,
Catholics, men without property, and all
women were banned from voting
African Americans were dubbed 3/4s of a person
Here in the US we had slavery and then segregation
long long after all other western countries
had declared these things an abomination..
During WW2, the 1940s, We demanded that our African-American
Soldiers be segregated from White soldiers
in European and British hospitals…they were APPALLED
by our behavior..our Barbarism…
until the 1960s we had laws, “jim crow”, protecting
by law, the discrimination against US Citizens
based upon a “Genetic TAN”…and they even had the
same religion
It was ILLEGAL for African Americans and
European Americans to marry..
even when they had the same religion.
Here in the US people protesting against these
abuses towards citizens were MURDERED…
hung, burned, marginalized
and of course rampant anti-antisemitism…

At this time, 1960s, people in This Country were

Islam, is a Religion of Conflict, Hatred and Intolerance
I grow weary of politicians telling me that Islam is a religion of peace, when you and I know full well that they have declared war upon our country, democracy, freedom of choice and our numerous religions.
It is not the Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Jews, Sikhs and the other faiths that are demanding that the world must convert to their faith, but the followers of Muhammad, as pictures taken of the streets of London during the recent 2009 Islamic ‘Religion of Peace Demonstration.’ demonstrated so clearly.
True, not every terrorist is a Muslim, but the terrorist responsible for 9/11 and the London Bombings were all Muslims.
As for burning the Koran, that would be too respectful, why not it, let nature take its course so that it is expunged from the body exposed for what it really is, a load of . . .

FACT: Islam is the fastest growing religion in the UK
Last month I attended my annual training session for maintaining my security clearance in the prison service.
There was a presentation by three speakers from the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained their beliefs.
I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say about the basics of Islam, complete with video.
After the presentations, question time. I directed my question to the Imam and asked:
‘Correct me if I’m wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a Holy War against the infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims) they are assured of a place in heaven. If that’s the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?’
There was no disagreement with my statement and, without hesitation he replied, ‘Non-believers!’
I responded, ‘So let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not a follower of Allah, so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?’
The expression on his face changed from one of authority to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the biscuit tin.’
He sheepishly replied, ‘Yes.’
I then stated, ‘Well, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope Benedict, commanding all Catholics to kill Muslims, or the Archbishop of Canterbury ordering all Protestants to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!’
The Imam was speechless!
I continued, ‘I also have a problem with being your ‘friend’ when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me! Let me ask you a question. Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because He will take me to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?’
You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam remained speechless.
Needless to say, the organizers of the Diversification seminar were not happy with this way of exposing the truth about the Muslims’ beliefs.
So there it is guys, Muslims get free pass to Paradise if they kill one of us.
