Real Housewives of D.C. paid $50,000 per episode, given cars to drive in D.C.
Tareq is a scary sociopath who needs to be behind bars! Honestly, I’m beginning to fear for Michaele Salahi the most. If he can’t control himself in public in front of Andy Cohen who is paying each cast member $50,000 per episode and giving them vehicles to drive, I wonder how he treats Michaele in the privacy of their home.

According to Andrea Rodgers at AskMissa.com, [Thanks to the site I'm Just Sayin for tipping DBKP on Andrea Roger's post.] on July 31st there was an incident involving Bravo rep’s, the press, and Real Housewives of D.C. cast members Tareq Salahi and Lynda Erkiletian at a Bravo dinner party at Trader Vic’s in the Beverly Hilton.
Anywho, Tareq’s temper raged again last night around midnight at Trader Vic’s at the Beverly Hilton. This time he attacked Real Housewives of DC co-star, Linda Erkiletian with wine! Yep he threw a glass of wine on her at a dinner that the Housewives attended with Bravo reps and press, and ruined her aqua blue dress. Lynda retaliated and threw a glass of water on Tareq. The Salahis got up and left. Unfortunately, no cameras were rolling at the time. This outrageous behavior comes from the same man who dared to complain that President Obama should have been more “gracious” to them at the State Dinner which they crashed last year!
Apparently, Tareq is upset that Bravo issued the statement about not sanctioning his bogus Real Housewives of DC Premier (sic) Party! You may remember my telling you that the charity and the party was more charity fraud on behalf of the Salahis and their cohorts, and I told you about the real premiere parties. Tareq was also ticked off about Lynda’s on-camera remarks calling America’s Cup of Polo a “goat rodeo” and the Salahis “second tier people”. Linda is just saying what others in Washington have been thinking, but are too politically correct or polite to say publicly. I’m really liking Linda, and feel awful for her.

Another Andrea Rodgers observation about Tareq Salahi from Andrea’s “Ask Miss A” advice column where Andrea answered the following question:

Traditionally we don’t wear white shoes/handbag’s before Easter, some say before Memorial Day. Now that I mention it, I wonder which one it is? My question is in regards to straw handbags. Would the same rule apply?

I wrote a piece a while back on when it’s appropriate to wear a white dinner jacket, which I wish Tareq Salahi would read. I’ve never seen one man wear the white dinner jacket more frequently, and more inappropriately. He wears his so much it actually reeks– not only of pretention but of body odor. Men, please remember that when you wear a tuxedo with either a black or white dinner jacket, you must wear the matching pants with the stripe on the side. I have a feeling that some men gain weight and rather than spend the money on a new tuxedo, they think they can get away with wearing regular black pants. Well, you can’t! So don’t! Also, please note a white dinner jacket isn’t stark white, it’s more off white, as I mentioned in my other article.

Andrea Rodgers is a reliable source regarding Michaele and Tareq Salahi and what ‘others have been thinking’ in D.C. about Bravo’s newest reality tv cast members. Andrea’s blog contains a wealth of info related to the Salahis including Andrea’s own experiences in dealing with Michaele and Tareq. Experiences including threats and lawsuits related to the polo charity organization the Salahis were involved in prior to starting their America’s Polo Cup ‘charity’ organization. An organization, according to the Washington Post, the state of Virginia opened a formal investigation on December 4th, 2009, a little over a month after Bravo began taping the first season of RHODC.
Which leads to the Bravo Real Housewives of D.C. June 15th press release. A press release which Bravo and Andy Cohen, Senior Vice President of Production and Programming, promised viewers Real Housewives of D.C. would be engaging and provocative with affluent, educated cast members, movers and shakers in D.C.. By June 15th, Bravo was aware Michaele Salahi was a phony, Michaele and her husband Tareq under investigation by the state of Virginia, the FBI, and the Secret Service. When the Bravo camera crew began taping the first season of RHODC, the Salahi’s Oasis Winery had filed Chapter Seven bankruptcy in February of 2009.

The five cast members: Michaele Salahi, Mary Schmidt Amons, Stacie Scott Turner, Catherine Ommanney, and Lynda Erkiletian. The relationships between the women will be intriguing as prior to taping RHODC, some of the cast members weren’t friends. In the Bravo Real Housewives’ contract fine print Bravo requires cast members spend time together in front of the cameras. The Real Housewives of New York City Ramona Singer “getaway” to St. John’s was scouted out and paid for by Bravo. A “getaway” cast member Kelly Bensimon claimed she didn’t want to go. Prior to the getaway, Kelly wasn’t friends with cast members Ramona Singer, Alex McCord, Sonja Morgan, or Bethenny Frankel. Kelly claimed she called her agent, told him she was leaving the first day and was talked out of leaving by her agent and Bravo producers. Reasons why Kelly went to St. John’s: Kelly’s Bravo contract required Kelly spend camera time with her Real Housewives cast members. And, Bravo adding drama in the form of Kelly Bensimon to the Virgin Islands episodes.
Andy Cohen was right about Bravo diving into the Beltway subculture looking for cast members for RHODC. The question remains as to what depth Bravo had to dive and whether Bravo searched a Beltway dumpster when they “discovered” the Salahis?
Andrea Rodgers wrote Tareq Salahi was upset because Bravo issued a statement about Tareq Salahi’s “bogus” RHODC premiere party. Tareq was upset at Lynda Erkiletian for calling Micheale and Tareq’s ‘charity’, American’s Polo Cup, a “goat rodeo” and Michaele and Tareq Salahi “second tier people” in front of the Bravo cameras.
On December 4th, 2009, the Washington Post reported the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services had begun a formal investigation of the “fundraising practices” of the Salahi’s America’s Polo Cup.
The Washington Post article is a fascinating read, revealing more of the phony claims made by Michaele and Tareq Salahi which included filing a false report to the police.
According to Andrea Rodgers, Tareq Salahi carries concealed weapons.
Some of my readers may remember Tareq Salahi telling Michaele to “Get my gun!” and threatening a tow trucker driver sent to repossess Michaele’s Audi. Others may remember the Salahis limo driver telling the Secret Service that Tareq regularly carries concealed weapons. The driver reached out to the Secret Service after the Salahis forged signage to sneak into restricted areas during President Obama’s Inauguration.
In early December the Washington Post reported American’s Polo Cup was under investigation by the state of Virginia. On June 13th, the Post reported the investigation is still ongoing with the Salahi’s holding an America’s Polo Cup event on the Washington Mall:
The America’s Polo Cup featured a match between the United States and India Saturday on the Mall, although neither government participated in the event. The event’s Web site listed its key sponsor as Kingfisher Beer, whose chief executive said the company was not a sponsor. The advertising for the event promised sponsors that it was the “best sporting experience . . . in the United States and considered the best in the world by the highest standards of polo.”
On November 26, 2009, just weeks after Bravo began taping Real Housewives of D.C., CNN reported the Salahis were involved in 16 different civil suits, an “extensive paper trail in federal bankruptcy and state court filings”, and the the “affluent” Salahi’s Oasis Winery filed Chapter Seven Bankruptcy in February of 2009.
Armed with the prior knowledge of Michaele and Tareq Salahis’ real life, Bravo posted the following Michaele Salahi “bio” on Bravo’s official Real Housewives of D.C. website:
This northern Virginia native and model is a big part of the inner workings of the D.C. life. She and husband Tareq together founded America’s Polo Cup, for which he is the U.S. team captain. Through her involvement in the Polo Cup, which has become one of the largest and most high profile polo events in the U.S., Michaele has met numerous political leaders across the globe. Additionally, the two are involved in running the Salahi family vineyard, Oasis Winery. Always on the move and juggling multiple projects at once, Michaele is heavily involved in charity work, including being an advocate and fundraising for MS and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A family girl at heart, Michaele loves spending time at the family vineyard with her stable of horses and beloved dog Rio.
