Tom Staub: Danielle Staub’s Ex, Deadbeat Dad?
Tom Staub, Danielle Staub’s ex, showed quite a bit of class with Tom and his new wife appearing on a Real Housewives of New Jersey episode at his daughter’s Sweet Sixteen party. A party which was a charity event. I missed the the first half of the episode which must have included the “details” about the charity event because, later, at the Sweet Sixteen party there didn’t seem to be any mention of the charity other than Danielle stating the very expensive party was a charity event with everything provided by donors. At the party, no signs of the charity or members of the charity thanking Danielle. NJ.com posted:

Christine is not into the party, but then, she says, “I came up with the idea of donating the money I earned at the sweet 16 to a charity” Pray tell, how does one earn money at their own party? Getting, yes. Earning? Maybe her mother can answer that question. Kidding. Nice gesture.
Well, I got my answer to when the charity was mentioned but no answers on how Christine “earned” the money.
The site Celebgalz has the details on Tom Staub, 54, married to his third wife Rebecca, who is pregnant. From another source, I learned Tom was married before Danielle. A marriage which ended when Tom met Danielle.

According to Celebgalz, Danielle and Tom’s marriage lasted 12 years. In 2009, Starcasm reported Tom Staub is paying child support–Danielle has claimed on RHONJ Tom has been “behind” on the payments–and that Staub pays the girls school tuition directly to the school after Danielle allegedly took the money and didn’t pay the tuition. Tom Staub’s alimony payments to Danielle are due to end in two years. Tom sees the girls “regularly” with Tom seeking custody of one of the girls. RHONJ holding up production after Tom purportedly refused to sign the release papers allowing the girls to be on the show.
This season Danielle has claimed Tom Staub is a deadbeat dad, that it was Tom’s fault Danielle had to sell her Wayne, New Jersey, home. Based on the fact Danielle Staub is sue-happy it would seem Danielle would have taken Tom to court and had Tom arrested for failure to pay child support. In tonight’s episode, Danielle showed her engagement ring to the girls, asking them if it was “okay” she wore the ring because the ring “no longer meant anything” to Danielle. A rather sad and bizarre scene as it’s obvious her daughters love their dad. Later, Danielle revealed her true motive, telling the Bravo camera crew, Tom’s wife didn’t have a ring as “big” as the one Tom gave her. The ring scene with the girls was a scene designed more for the viewers than her two daughters. A scene much like every other Danielle Staub scene, of Danielle turning every single scene into “it’s all about Danielle”, an obviously very unhappy woman. With Danielle, you can tell she’s never ever truly able to “relax”. Every scene, Danielle plotting, comparing, or contrasting herself with the other Real Housewives and their children. Christine, a lovely girl, is constantly compared to Teresa Giudice’s daughter, a 9-yr-old girl. Danielle’s younger daughter, Jillian, another sweet girl, being groomed by Danielle as the next tween singing sensation. Danielle, the stereotypical stage mother, living vicariously through her children while taking credit for their accomplishments. Which leads to Tom Staub who, in tonight’s episode, gritted his teeth and attended Christine’s Sweet Sixteen party. It was obvious Tom Staub loves his daughters and was proud of them. It obvious they loved their dad. Also obvious, the girl’s may have inherited their common sense from their dad, a grounding influence in their life. Based on Danielle’s antics in seasons one and now, in season two, those two girls live in an environment filled with Danielle Staub drama. A totally self-centered woman whose obsession with the Manzo’s, hiring bodyguards and bringing ex-felon Danny Provenzano into Danielle’s home and her daughter’s lives. Danielle claims she’s a great mom, showing off her daughters as proof. In my opinion, great moms don’t disparage their children’s father in front of the children, or on a nationally televised reality tv show. Great moms leave their children out of their “drama” and don’t make their children into surrogate parents. And, great moms don’t use their children to prop up their own low-self esteem.

LBG1.. I dont necessarily agree with you on this one..
If Tom Staub is so stoic and Danielle such a degenerate.. why does he not have custody?
THe kids are still on the show.. Danielle sex tape and all.
No courtroom battles, no custody fight. No keeping the kids off the show obviously they were the highlights of the show last night.
There was no real admissions of love for their father that was more than their mothers. They are just teenagers who seem aloof. Beautiful as they are and talented.. they are just that.. kids who seems unaffected by their parents issues but we know that is not true. They just seem to be highly guarded on all issues. Strange.
I dont think Tom Staub is that stoic and reputable if the kids are still kicking and smiling on Bravo’s network and in the custody of their mother regaling in her sex tape scandal that she leaked herself..

You could be right. I do know Danielle took Tom Staub court to try to get a larger settlement. According to the news source, it wasn’t related to child support but more money for Danielle. Just from watching the show it’s apparent Danielle talks trash about Tom in front of the kids. Danielle has shown she can flat out lie about people and make false allegations. (Danielle, in front of the cameras, lying about Jacqueline and Dina, telling her luncheon guests Jacqueline and Dina had “stood her up”. Danielle claiming she was “thrown out the Brownstone”, Danielle claiming the Manzo’s “were out to get out her”. Danielle claiming family members abused her which is why she ran away at an early age. Records show Danielle graduated from high school which undermines the abuse claims.) Based on those actions it’s not that hard to speculate Danielle may have done the same thing to Tom in relation to child custody of the kids with the threat of false allegations unless Tom didn’t cave to Danielle’s demands. You mentioned the kids “being guarded”. They love their mother, most kids do. It’s very apparent they’re leveled-headed which Danielle has given herself credit for even though it’s apparent the girls live in Danielle “bizarro” world. I’m of the belief the girls have, in their dad, someone who provides sanity in their lives. I could be wrong, but that’s my opinion.

There is no doubt that Danielle is a liar. I have observed her over the past 2 years lying about her past, half admitting and then totally owning up to her past. I dont think she was ready to come clean about her past or thought she would have to.
I think she went on a full out whirlwind of lies to cover lies etc when it comes to her past and confusing lies to justify why her husband left her because you can totally see that she is or was still hurt by it.
What I do find interesting is how she doesnt lie about her finances and the state of disrepair about her house. She is totally forthcoming with things and other things totally lies.
I am not making excuses for her but I think her past, she never come to terms with until this last year but only came to terms with half of her past and will own up to it. Now that being said, I wonder how many lies she wrote in her book to conver the stuff she is not yet ready to own up too and play victim too.
Truth be told, if I had such a sordid past and spent years trying to get past it, then someone throws it my face publicly, I dont know what I would of done to recover.
I have mixed feelings about Danielle. On one hand, she has a ton of people who are ganging up on her. If she is so worthless, why bother? Wouldnt she be a waste of ur time? Now we see next week Kim G running after her with the same vengeance as the country club scene which makes me sick.
I find it funny that the Manzo’s/ Teresa get outraged when Danielle talks about their families but they have done the same to ignite her. They were the first to treat her badly and now they are indignant?
I dunno.. the whole thing stinks to me. Like I said.. I have mixed feelings and her and her puting out that sex tape really angers me for her kids. But then again, Kendra W and others have done it and peeps are not so outraged by them.
I guess after all this hot air.. I just dont like double standards..
Ok I will make one point that angers me. Danielle is pissed at the country club scene.. She goes to the restroom and tries to leave. Teresa pretends she wants to talk to her and she lies about her intentions. They get into a fight and Danielle tries to leave, Jac then also goes after her. Now its 2 on one. Now not only does T and J chase after her, cameras and some guests also chase after her to be spectators. China crashing, people egging on the T and J and Danielle in my mind has every right to be terrified. Over dramatic? I dont think so.
She cant even get to her car without ashley attacking her then she finally gets in the car and they stand infront of the car not letting the car leave until Danielle had to call the police.
I guess Caroline was right. They handed this to Danielle on a silver platter but I dont think at all Danielle planned it.
Ahh… this show sucks and makes this group of women give women a bad name… Ok I am done.. lol

I agree with you on a whole lot points that you made!
These are reality tv celebrities on a show we don’t have a clue as to how much has been edited. The only reason these women are celebrities is because they signed up for the show, a show Bravo touts as the “fabulous” lives of affluent housewives.

In Danielle’s case, Danielle has told a number of lies, which weren’t related to her past. Lies which the viewers knew the instant Danielle said them, were lies. When Danielle told her luncheon guests Dina and Jacqueline had “stood her up”, the viewers had already seen Jacqueline and Dina tell Danielle they wouldn’t be able to attend Danielle’s luncheon. When Danielle told her “friends”, her ex-boyfriend Steve had hidden cameras to film their sexcapades, viewers had already seen Danielle try to entice Steve into the restaurant restroom for some quickie sex. When Danielle claimed she’d been thrown out of the Brownstone, viewers knew Danielle had left in a huff after not getting the kind of table she wanted for her entourage. The list is endless…..
At this point, who cares Danielle had a “past”. It’s Danielle’s behavior in the reality tv present, bizarre behavior, which has generated quite a bit of attention this season of RHONJ.

I posted this on another article before I saw this one, but it’s more relevant here.
Ms. Ashley Holmes posted some interesting insider information on her Twitter about how such a large crowd might have been convened for the birthday event AND insight into the Staub girls’ relationship with their father, events which she says she witnessed herself. (Her comments present the relationship with their father and step-mother in a positive light.)
Still, all in all, watching Danielle interact with her ex and his current wife was pure entertainment gold! And, knowing the back-story here only boosts the comedy in the drama.
I’d imagine the current wife has one eye over her shoulder at all times. (Or, at least Danielle’s “villain character” she is “portraying” would like us to think so.)

Ah, yes, the Danielle the “villain”. Danielle informed Andy Cohen on WWHL!, villain was the role Bravo gave Danielle this year. Andy was quick to respond with “Oh really?”. I don’t follow Bravo’s A List Awards. I wonder, do they give out an award for the best Bravo reality tv cast member villain? If so, do the viewers get to vote?
It’d be interesting to see who wins the award? Danielle Staub or Jill Zarin?
