EOAC: Alarmed by Rep. Charlie Wilson's lack of accountability
Dozens of Tea Party members showed up outside of Congressman Charlie Wilson’s district offices Thursday to emphasize their displeasure over the Congressman’s lack of accountability to his constituents. DBKP was there and returned with pix.

Coordinated action by Tea Party members across Ohio’s 6th Congressional District, currently represented in Congress by Charlie Wilson (D), resulted in rallies outside Wilson’s five offices on Thursday.
The rally we attended was outside Wilson’s Bridgeport, OH office, located on Main Street (US RT 40). At least 50 people were present–with more straggling in as we left–and made their displeasure with Wilson’s aloof style of meeting with his constituents.
One complaint we heard was the the congressman had held no town meetings with constituents–except for a few “phone-in” events. These tightly-scripted affairs have limited contact between Wilson and those of his constituents wishing to voice their displeasure at the Congressman’s many votes with the Democratic leadership.
From Eastern Ohio Accountability Coalition’s Accountability Rally at all District 6 Offices:
The Eastern Ohio Accountability Coalition (EOAC) will hold demonstrations, simultaneously, at all five of Congressman Wilson’s offices to protest the fact that the has failed to hold himself accountable to the people he was elected to represent. The Rallies will begin at 4:30 PM on Thursday July 29th and last about an hour to kick off the Congressional recess period.
The EOAC is alarmed over the direction Wilson’s campaign for the Ohio 6th District is going. Wilson’s campaign is in lock step with direction provided by the Administration and his party’s leadership as recently reported by the New York Times. Wilson has clearly “tried to avoid unscripted question and answer sessions…” with Teleconferences and he continues to “hold events in controlled settings…without the worry of being snared in a an angry confrontation with seniors.” Congressman Wilson’s Teleconferences are designed to avoid holding himself accountable to the electorate as recommended by his leadership.

The traffic was very busy along US RT 40, with many of the vehicles honking their agreement and waving to the Tea Party attendees.
Several local media were represented at the rally while we were there. One cameraman mentioned that this was the second Tea Party rally in front of Wilson’s office in Bridgeport; the last one being 5-6 weeks ago.
Wilson’s offices have been popular places to rally since Congressman Wilson has not had any face-to-face town hall meetings with those he represents over the last year.

these people voted against there own self interest. Most of these people consider themselves religious and are against health care access to those who can not access. Pathetic and hypocritical. Their mantra seems to be “if God wanted you to have health care he would have made you rich” Serious contradictions

Kathleen,
these people voted against there own self interest. Most of these people consider themselves religious and are against health care access to those who can not access.
So many assumptions, so little time.
No one I’ve ever talked to is “against health care access.” But, of course you know that. In particular, what has animated Americans is the FEDERAL GOV’T. ordering me to buy health insurance–for my own good.
THAT is the sticking point and no amount of your dissembling on your part will change that.
Your mantra seems to be, “If God wanted me to leave a thoughtful comment, he would have made me thoughtful.”
See how that works?
