Lindsey Graham’s Kagan Vote: Hoping for a Seinfeld on SCOTUS
Graham remains firmly in control of his firm of Wobbly, Feckless & Obtuse
Lindsay Graham provide the lone vote to spring Elena Kagan from the Senate Judiciary Committee. He cited her “sense of humor.” Maybe Graham will push Jerry Seinfeld for the next judicial opening.
GRAHAM’S YES VOTE FOR KAGAN ILLUSTRATES HIS KEEN LEGAL MIND IN ACTION ONCE MORE
We can’t say that Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has no principles.
We can only say that we have never seen him exhibit any–above a curious self-interest in how his musings will be portrayed by The Washington Post.
Graham’s latest display of intellectual helplessness is his vote to move Elena Kagan, a legal non-entity, out of committee.
Graham was the lone Republican vote. As per Graham sidekick, John McCain, the South Carolinian demonstrates his “independence” only when he’s voting against Republicans.
Paul, PowerLine: Lindsey Graham — Arlen Specter with a sense of humor.
Graham explained that Kagan is “funny” which “goes a long way in my book.”
President Obama praised the vote, calling Kagan “one of this country’s leading legal minds.” This claim is dubious, and not supported by her writings as an academic or by qualities displayed during her limited advocacy before courts.

Graham is up for re-election in 2014. By then Elena Kagan (and for that matter Sonia Sotomayor) will have a substantial record through which South Carolina Republicans can assess the judgment of their senior Senator, assuming he runs for re-election. In the meantime, let’s hope that Kagan includes some good one-liners in her left-wing opinions.
Prediction: When Lindsey Graham is retired by the voters in South Carolina in 2014, he will join other GOP losers in condemning the people he claims he represents. His condemnation will target voters exhibiting the good sense to look for a Senator whose primal urges don’t include the need to be loved by the DC elite.
Drew M, AoSHQ sums it up: “As I said on Twitter….I really wish it were Graham that Alvin Greene was up against this year. I’d donate to Greene in that case.”
Maybe the SC GOP can get Greene to switch parties in time for 2014.
In that case, one suspects there will be plenty of people lining up to pay Greene’s filing fees.
Rick, Brutally Honest: Lindsey Graham is not wise.
Rick adds, “Idiot.”
And that’s as principled as it gets when discussing Mr. Graham.

Those of us in Upstate South Carolina that voted Lindsey in two years ago, regret deeply that he has become the self-absorbed, attention seeking, compromiser he is. He sells us out every time he gets in front of a camera.
He seems to desire the accolades of the domestic enemies of our sacred Constitution more than his duty to uphold and defend it.
For that, he will not be re-elected. His approval ratings in his home town and surrounds is at an all-time low.
Do not be surprised if you read in the newspaper where his house has been moved in the middle of the night over-the-line to Georgia.
We WILL figure out a way to run him out of town before the end of his term.
He needs to start a lobbying firm with either John McCain or Barney Frank. Actually the former…the later pair would never get any lobbying done.

Lindsay Graham is a socialist leftist in Republican clothing. How in God’s name can we Republicans be so stupid as to vote in traitorous morons such as him to represent us? Obama is killing our country, but there are plenty of Republicans that are helping him do it! Kiss your freedom goodbye thanks to aholes like these two.

Lighten up, folks. Your reactionary stance is shockingly foolish and unattractive, too.
Find the middle. Find happiness.
Or go away.

Ben,
Find the middle, get run over.
Or see which way the wind is blowing. Fine method for a weather vane–not so much for a supposed leader.
Penny saved!
Thanks for the comment.
