Dancing With The Stars 2010 Finale: Who Won, The Battle of the Argentine Tangos
The Dancing With the Stars finale and the three final couple contestants, Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya, Erin Andrews and Maksim Chermkovksiy, and Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough all chose the Argentine Tango: All three couples danced their version. Nicole and Derek were stunning, Evan and Anna, fabulous, Erin and Maks, also fabulous. All three judges, Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Toniolo agreed the tenth season of Dancing With the Stars finale has been the most highly competitive and toughest finale to judge. The judges ranked Nicole and Derek, first, Evan and Anna, second, with Erin and Maks, third.
Based on last night’s final dances, the judge’s vote, and the votes from fans, Erin and Maks took third place. Both Erin and Maks were extremely gracious. Maks stated that after tonight’s dance with Erin, he “felt like a winner”. Erin, tearful, said she had come onto the show while having a “crummy year”-this past year Erin has faced a stalker, death threats, and a creep filming Erin through the peephole of her hotel room, a film which showed Erin naked which was posted on the internet. Erin said her experience of competing on Dancing With the Stars and working with Maks had brought back her smile, her life.
The battle for the season ten champions of DWTS was now between Evan and Anna and Nicole and Derek. Both couples would perform one more dance which would be scored by the judges. Their scores combined with last night’s judge’s scores and fan votes.
After the final three couples danced their Argentine Tangos, DWTS brought back previous contestants for “short” dance on the floor.
Nicole and Derek danced first to “Proud Mary”. After their dance, all three judges were wowed, Len told Nicole she was the champion of season ten. (Way to put pressure on Evan, who had yet to dance with Anna.) Nicole and Derek scored three perfect 10′s.
Evan and Anna danced the quickstep to “I Want You to Want Me”. You could tell by what the judges said to Evan after the dance, “you have truly been a joy to watch” and “you have done a fantastic job” from Len, signaled the judges hadn’t been wowed by Evan and Anna’s performance. The judge’s scores: 10, 9, 9. The ten was given by Carrie.
