Dancing with the Stars Jake Pavelka: Ex-Girlfriend Alleges Bachelor Star was Dishonest to Viewers

Who is Dancing With The Stars’ Jake Pavelka, the former ABC star of The Bachelor? An honest as the day as long reality tv star hoping to dance his way to more reality tv fame with his new fiance, Vienna Girardi, cheering him on from the front row? Or was Jake dishonest, to both the viewers of The Bachelor and, to his ex whom, she claims, Jake told her she was his true love then dumped her for a stint on The Bachelor.

As one of the viewers of the latest installment of The Bachelor, Jake, 32, didn’t have a problem professing his “love” for each of the final four women. The problems for Jake arose when trying to decide which of the women he’d have to let go. In the end, Jake chose 23-year-old Vienna Girardi of Sanford, Florida. Once Jake handed Vienna the final rose, Jake declared Vienna was the one he truly loved. According to a report from Radar, Jake wasn’t finished declaring his love to a woman as, right after filming for The Bachelor wrapped, Jake was allegedly on the phone to his ex, proclaiming his love.

Jake contacted his ex-girlfriend the day after taping wrapped, a source told RadarOnline.com. During the next few weeks he tried to convince his ex that he still loved her and the women on the show – including Vienna – meant nothing to him, the source claims.

Jake’s ex is another woman from Florida named Tanya Douglas. On March 16, Tanya appeared on Inside Edition. According to Tanya, the two met when Tanya flew on a commercial flight piloted by Jake two years ago. The two began a serious dating relationship five months ago. According to Tanya, the relationship mimicked some aspects of The Bachelor as the two spent a romantic weekend in New York and met each other’s families in their respective home towns. Jake spoke with Tanya’s father:

He had a private conversation with my father saying, ‘I love your daughter, I think that God led us to be together, I have every intention of having a life with her,’ ” says Douglas.

Then, according to Tanya, Jake blindsided her when he told he was going to be the next Bachelor.

“He said, ‘Tanya I love you and I’m not going on the show to find love, and I know I’ve found love with you, but we just need to put our relationship on shelf,’ ” she says.

“You must have known it was over when he started dating 25 other women,’ ” says Alexander.

“Well of course it was over, but putting your relationship on a shelf is not the same as breaking up with someone,” Douglas explains.

According to Tanya, Jake phoned her after the series had wrapped and before the episode had aired. Jake seemed to want to renew his relationship with Tanya:

“He said, ‘But Tanya I do want to let you know that ever since I first saw you get on that plane in Asheville, that I’ve never loved anyone more.’ ”

Tanya discovered she’d been put on a permanent “shelf” when she watched the final episode of The Bachelor where Jake slipped a large princess cut diamond on Vienna’s finger against the gorgeous tropical setting of St. Lucia and proposed. Prior to Vienna’s arrival, Jake spoke about “this moment” for the cameras:

Jake: “For 31 years I have dream t of a moment like this. I can really make hard choices and the greatest part about a hard choice is the outcome once you get through it.”

Back to Jake and his pre-engagement monologue on St. Lucia:

“I would never ask a woman for her hand in marriage unless I was a hundred percent sure.”

(But would he ask a woman to stay on “the shelf” if he thought he might not find the right woman out of the 25 bachelorettes?)

Jake:

“The decision is just way too big. I came here for no other reason than to fall in love. I can’t believe it’s ending like this.

(Neither could Tanya.)

Jake:

“But I know what’s in my heart. I know what I’m doing is right.”

Cue the lovely Vienna who arrives by helicopter.

Jake:

“I think you’re just an amazing woman. Absolutely amazing but there’s something you need to have. It’s the promise ring from your father. I want you to have this. I didn’t understand this. I asked you what it really meant because I thought it was a symbol of pain but I know that it’s something much more than that. You need to have this. I think it’s important. There’s something else though. I don’t want you to ever forget this… Vienna, I love you.

Jake on one knee:

“Vienna, I love you with everything I am. Vienna, will you marry me?”

What Tanya failed to mention was that Jake’s recent stint on the Bachelor wasn’t his first reality tv venture into finding true love. Back in June of 2009, Jake was a one of the men wooing Jillian on The Bachelorette.

Jake told Jillian he was searching for his soulmate.

Filming for The Bachelorette began in February of 2009. The new season of “The Bachelorette” debuted May 18. On the June 23rd episode, Jillian sent Jake packing.

On the next episode, Jake was back, crashing Jillian’s hometown date with Wes in Austin, Tx..

Wes went from cocky about his career to irritated when she questioned his intentions. Things got even messier when Jake blew into town to tell Jillian that Wes had a girlfriend. He was there to protect her, he said, and not to get a second chance. Jillian confronted Wes and eventually Jake came in to join her. Wes swore the girl in question is just an ex, and charmed Jillian into following through with meeting his family. His mom and sisters reiterated that he was single and a one-woman kind of guy.

After seeing how the show works and how much love the producers have in their work, I would consider. It’s a terrific way to find somebody.

If you do, what are you looking for in a woman?
I’ve dated a type of girl my whole life that has kept me single. The girl that won’t call back or plays lot of games. They’re fun and keep you on your toes, but not the type you end up marrying. I would go after girls that I don’t consider my type.

On October 13th’s episode of Dancing With The Stars, Jake was announced as the next Bachelor.

Prior to the announcement on Dancing With The Stars, Film.com reported a contestant on the new Bachelor had accidentally spilled the beans Jake was the new Bachelor and that fans were not pleased with ABC’s choice:

Pavelka, a pilot from Dallas, is arguably the finalist least favored by fans for The Bachelor spot. He gained a reputation as a smarmy tattletale during the last season of The Bachelorette after telling Jillian that one of the other suitors had a girlfriend back home. During the reunion show, he seemed to be openly vying for the position of next Bachelor.

Filming for the Bachelor began in November.

In a recent Access Hollywood interview Jake stated “it would be at least a year” before he and Vienna’s waltzed down the aisle. No doubt the two hope their nuptials will get the same treatment from ABC as Bachelor Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney’s wedding which aired in March and was paid for by ABC!
