Missing Eight-Month-Old Gabriel Johnson
The father of 8-month-old Gabriel Johnson of Tempe, Arizona needs the public’s help in finding his missing baby.
Eight-month-old Gabriel Johnson from Tempe, Arizona has been missing since December 18 when his mother, Elizabeth Johnson, 23, allegedly took Gabriel to San Antonio. Johnson was arrested January 5 in Miami Beach on a felony warrant on suspicion of custodial interference. When Johnson was arrested, baby Gabriel wasn’t with her. According to Gabriel’s father, Elizabeth Johnson had contacted him and claimed she’d killed Gabriel and placed him in a dumpster. Even so, Gabriel’s father believes Gabriel is still alive based on a phone call from a couple seeking to adopt Gabriel and a similar incident that occurred in July.
According Gabriel’s father, Logan Scott McQueary, on December 27, Johnson sent a text and cell phone message she had killed Gabriel and left his body in a dumpster. During a press conference police with McQueary stated they believe Gabriel is still alive. McQueary claimed that after Johnson’s message a couple from Arizona contacted him and threatened harm to the baby, if McQueary wanted his son to “have a safe home”, he would sign adoption papers.
This wasn’t the first instance of Elizabeth Johnson staging an incident involving the baby and his welfare:
In the July incident, McQueary told police Johnson tore apart a baby crib, took a knife and cut up baby clothes, McQueary’s clothes and the couch, and smashed windows of the apartment and a television set. In another incident, Johnson later hid Gabriel but accused McQueary of taking him, according to a request for custody of the child McQueary filed with the Maricopa County Superior Court on Dec. 11.
The baby was found hours later at the home of one of Johnson’s friends after police conducted a search for him.
