Obama Fails to Receive Wakeup Call Sent by Massachusetts Voters, Scott Brown Election
Scott Brown Massachusetts Win Merely a “Setback” for Obama’s Controversial Road to Fundamental Change

“There’s going to be a tendency on the part of our people to be in denial about all this,†Bayh told ABC News, but “if you lose Massachusetts and that’s not a wake-up call, there’s no hope of waking up.â€
Democrat Senator Evan Bayh on Republican Scott Brown’s stunning Senate win in Massachusetts
Once you read the email sent out the day following Scott Brown’s win in Massachusetts by Obama’s Organizing for America you realize the wake-up call failed to reach the White House. That Bayh’s prediction, of “no hope of waking up” involves Barack Obama, who, according to the OFA email, is frustrated that his agenda, his deeply held promise of fundamental and now “controversial” change, has suffered a setback.
The following is a copy of the OFA email to members which states the deep discontent of Massachusetts voters was due to, amazingly enough, the “pace of change”.
Yesterday’s disappointing election results show deep discontent with the pace of change. I know the OFA community and the President share that frustration.
We also saw what we knew to be true all along: Any change worth making is hard and will be fought at every turn. While it doesn’t take away the sting of this loss, there is no road to real change without setbacks along the way.
We could have simply sought to do things that were easy, that wouldn’t stir up controversy. But changes that aren’t controversial rarely solve the problem.
Our country continues to face the same fundamental challenges it faced yesterday. Our health care system still needs reform. Wall Street still needs to be held accountable. We still need to create good jobs. And we still need to continue building a clean energy economy.
The President isn’t walking away from these challenges. In fact, his determination and resolve are only stronger. We must match that commitment with our own.
But it won’t be easy. Real change never is. For that reason, I am grateful you’re part of this fight with us.
Thank you,
Mitch

Acknowledging the lesson of Massachusetts would require that Obama contemplate altering his plans. There isn’t the slightest chance he will do so. He may condescend to say something slightly different, but as always, Obama’s actions will betray his stated intent. My guess is that the White House will bribe and browbeat Dems to pass any health reform bill, and then proceed to use regulations to achieve the total government control of the health care sector he seeks.

The issue is control.
