Take Care.Update: – We have just found out that the same defacement is appearing at at least one other site, mawjcamp.org. We are not able to see what was at this domain before, but it is now displaying the same defacement that Twitter was only a few minutes ago.
Reuters reported that “Micro-blogging site Twitter said its domain name system records were temporarily “compromised” Thursday night, but that the problem was fixed later.”
Twitter.com was redirected for a while, but some applications were working, the company said on its blog.
Twitter told Reuters that it “was investigating the issue and would provide more information when available.”
TechCrunch also reported that the following Google page was returned when searching for Twitter:
One wonders what President Obama will have to say over the Twitter hacking. The US president offered little encouragement to those who protested–and died–in the streets of Iran last summer, famously saying that he didn’t think the USA should “meddle”.
He has since offered few words that weren’t encouraging to the current regime of Iran. Could these cyber pirates somehow been encouraged by the US president’s tacit approval of the crackdown in Tehran?

If this is the work of Iran, will it be the last?
The current regime in Iran is also said to be upset with the use of Facebook by dissidents. In fact, Reuters only minutes ago reported that “the group also hacked an Iranian opposition website.”
Will Facebook be next?
Was this the work of some sort of Internet Iranian Revolutionary Cyber Guards?
Will President Obama say anything if it is the work of Iranian anti-democracy cyber thugs?

It is amazing to see how easily hackers are getting account login information. Whom ever was responsible for the DNS information is probably going to be getting a talking to! Changing DNS records like like changing a phone number under a popular businesses listing in a phonebook. Still, changing DNS is one of the oldest tricks in the books!
