GEORGE WILL ON CLIMATEGATE: The climate-change travesty
Copenhagen is the culmination of the post-Kyoto maneuvering by people determined to fix the world’s climate by breaking the world’s — especially America’s — population to the saddle of ever-more-minute supervision by governments. But Copenhagen also is prologue for the 2010 climate change summit in Mexico City, which will be planet Earth’s last chance, until the next one.
Here’s the real travesty: the billions sucked from taxpayers’ wallets by government and redistributed to “green industry”; i.e., green suckers on the federal teat. If “Green energy” was such a great Next Big Thing, there would be people falling all over themselves to invest in it. As it is, the only reason “Green Energy” is even being considered is the artificial stimulus of this government-funded tomfoolery.
TODAY IS PEARL HARBOR DAY: “A day that will live in infamy”.

On November 23, Stephen Sackur interviewed Abdalmahmood Abdalhaleem Mohamad on his BBC television show “Hardtalk.” Mohamad is Sudan’s ambassador at the United Nations and is also chairman of the G77 and China bloc of developing countries. The topic was the U.N. climate conference scheduled to start December 7 in Copenhagen. The Group of 77 and China bloc has played a leading role in shaping the framework for future treaty negotiations that is to be adopted at the UN conference.
