Tiger Woods’ SUV crash was caused by his wife, Elin, who distracted him by beating on the vehicle with golf club while he exited after a fight between the couple? Apparently, Woods’ injuries were also inflicted by his wife, also.

That’s what TMZ (Tiger Woods: Injuries Caused by Wife, Not SUV) is saying.

Woods was treated and released from a local hospital after the SUV he was driving hit a fire hydrant.

Reports are coming out that Tiger Woods’ car crash was caused by his wife beating the SUV with a golf club. This contradicts earlier reports that Elin Woods was “helpful”–though it was unclear whether police were referring to her skill with a golf club or not.

The mistress is reported to be model, Rachel Uchitel. Reports surfaced over the last week in the “gossip press” (read: National Enquirer, who first blew the story open) that Woods was “blowing her (the mistress’) cellphone up with messages”.

From the Enquirer: “Multiple sources, who passed polygraph tests, say Rachel told them that she and Tiger also stay in touch during his frequent travels through phone calls and “sexting,” sending each other racy text messages on their cell phones.”

And while Rachel emphatically says she’s no home wrecker, she recently had a disastrous affair with David Boreanaz, the star of Bones. The affair even continued while his wife was pregnant and was reported exclusively by Star magazine.

Tiger Woods’ bizarre overnight car crash outside his Florida home came only two days after the National Enquirer published an article claiming the golf champ was having an affair.

Police said they had no knowledge of a fight between Woods, 33, and his wife, Elin, before Woods left their house at 2:25 a.m. Friday — backing out of his driveway and plowing into a fire hydrant and a neighbor’s tree in a gated community near Orlando.

Police reports stated yesterday that Elin Woods took a golf club and knocked out the rear window of the car which contained Tiger. It was supposed this was a sign that Elin was trying to help her husband escape from the car.

In fact, one AP storied called Mrs. Woods’ actions “helpful”.

In light of the Enquirer’s story and others reports that the couple had had a “fight”, maybe Elin Woods had another motive for appearing with the golf club?

“Tiger Woods did not suffer facial lacerations from a car accident. They were inflicted by his wife, Elin Nordegren — according to a conversation Woods had Friday after the accident.”

As was previously stated, wives with golf clubs in their hands after a fight might not be all that “helpful”–regardless of what the AP reports.

There’s a lot at the Enquirer and they promise more. Which means that they have a LOT more.

UPDATE @ 1725 EST November 28 09:

Rachel Uchitel Denying and Doing it Badly

The Enquirer has just updated their original story. Uchitel is denying any affair–but doing it badly.

Rachel has even been caught in outright lies in specific comment responses to The ENQUIRER.

Rachel traveled to Australia to meet with Tiger while he played earlier this month in the Australian Masters, both sources said. BUT Rachel initially told us she traveled there with a boyfriend.

In a later conversation, however, she admitted to The ENQUIRER she had lied about going to Australia with a boyfriend. She said she was in the country “for business.”

Looks like she’s nailed–and the Enquirer’s got even more that it’s going to release in its own particular version of the Chinese water torture. It turns into torture when the person under it keeps denying.

One additional point: it’s being reported that Woods and his wife will be delaying their interview with police. It’s not clear until when.

From Police to Talk to Tiger Woods About Accident:

Windermere police chief Daniel Saylor said his two officers found the 33-year-old Woods lying in the street with his wife, Elin, hovering over him.

“She was frantic, upset,” Saylor said in a briefing Friday night. “It was her husband laying on the ground.”

Saylor said Woods’ wife told officers she was in the house when she heard the accident and “broke the back window with a golf club.” He said the front-door windows were not broken and that “the door was probably locked.”

Questions: Where was Tiger going at 2:24 in the morning? Why did his wife “rescue” him with a golf club in hand? Was Woods on pain-killers, as has been reported?

As the Woods’ will be talking to police sometime in the near future–and the 911 tape will supposedly be released on Sunday–we will have answers, answers, answers soon.

UPDATE 0745 EST November 29, 2009:

According to E! Online, Rachel Uchitel is going after the National Enquirer, Tiger Woods, Wife Dodging Investigators?:

“We have never had an affair, and the claims we did are completely false,” Uchitel told the newspaper. “I am really upset about it because I am being portrayed as a homewrecker, when it simply isn’t true.”

In the meantime, Uchitel has lawyered up to battle the tabloid’s story, and is being represented by Gloria Allred, E! News has confirmed.
