Sarah Palin Going Rogue Book Tour Recap: Three Stops in Florida with Thousands of Books to Sign
Tuesday was an incredibly busy day for Sarah Palin and her Going Rogue book tour with three stops in Florida. We wondered how Palin would handle the feat of signing copies bought by the thousands who stood in line for the coveted Sarah Palin wristband. Prior to yesterday, the wristbands were limited-in some locations, to up 1200 people-while, before yesterday, each person was allowed to purchase two books. We wondered, with sometimes two events scheduled a day, how Sarah Palin’s hand managed, by the end of the day, to hold up.
According to News4Jax.com, Palin managed to sign 630 copies, leaving 170 left who had wristbands at Jacksonville’s Orange Park Mall with “signed” stickers. People had begun to “camp out” at the mall beginning Sunday night prior to Palin’s Monday appearance.
At Palin’s next stop, the Barnes and Noble at The Villages in Jacksonville, an estimated 1-2,000 fans had gathered beginning as early as 24 hours earlier where one man got a Sarah Palin “signing” bonanza:
“She’s my political hero,” gushed Highsmith, tightly embracing two autographed copies of Palin’s memoir, “Going Rogue: An American Life,” and a handful of bookmarks. “I think she is as amazing as she is on TV.”
Palin’s last stop was at the Barnes and Noble at Colonial Plaza in Orlando. WKMG posted a video of the people waiting for Palin. WKMG reported that the bookstore wasn’t forthcoming on “how many” wristbands were given out but estimated at “1,000″. Even so, they also reported the store had already “run out”.
WFTV has this link to Palin arriving in Orlando.
Palin’s tour is scheduled for to last for “about three weeks” with a break at Thanksgiving, then end on December 10.
