On Saturday, November 21, DBKP’s Mondo managed to drop by the Palin book tour event held by the local Sam’s Club in Washington, PA..

On Sunday, Palin was in Roanoke, VA, and later at Rochester, NY. Roanoke.com reported “500 people” had camped out overnight in 39F degree to get a coveted spot in line. Palin arrived early and managed to meet, in 3.5 hours the 1750 people, as well as sign a copy of her book.
Alyssa Cordova, 23, and Virginia Mosely, 22, both of Northern Virginia, were giddy from the encounter.
“This is the best day of my life,” Cordova said. “Can you imagine people turning out like this for Jack Kemp or John Edwards — other failed vice presidential candidates? These people adore her. They love her. She’s one of us. She’s not this policy wonk who talks down to us and talks over us. She’s a regular person.”
Later in the day Palin arrived in Rochester, NY, at the Borders Books and Music. Jedediah Bila, a journalist and political commentator hailing from New York published her account at HumanEvents.com, Sarah Palin Goes Rogue in Rochester.
According to Bila, the night before the event, “hundreds” had already set up tents, chairs, or sleeping bags in order to get a headstart in line for the next day 6 PM event, And, that by 1 AM, 250 people were in line. Bila wrote an informative piece, well worth the read, including speaking to a “self-proclaimed lifelong Democrat who voted for Barack Obama in the 2008 election and is now a Sarah Palin supporter”.
Today, Palin is set to be at Ft. Bragg at the AAFES Post Exchange, Bldg. #8-5050 Butner Rd, North Post Mall and later in Birmingham, AL, at Books-A-Million, 757 Brookwood Village, Birmingham, at 7 PM.
It’s interesting to note that MyFoxAl.com out of Birmingham reported “500″ had showed up Sunday to get a signed copy of “A Simple Christmas” from Mike Huckabee at the Books-A-Million while an estimated at 1,800 showed up beginning Saturday night to see Sarah, who wouldn’t arrive until 7PM today.
Palin’s Going Rogue is currently listed as #1 in book sales at Amazon.com, while Huckabee’s A Simple Christmas, Twelve Stories that Celebrate the True Holiday Spirit, is ranked #45. Meanwhile, former Vice President Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” is ranked #18,720.
According to the Guardian, Palin’s first day sales of Going Rogue-300,000-makes the book one of the most bestselling non-fiction books in history. Palin is behind Bill Clinton’s 2004 memoir My Life which sold 400,000 in the first 24 hours. Even so, Palin is ahead of Hillary Clinton’s 2003 autobiography, Living History, which achieved 200,000 in first day sales.
Palin’s tour is scheduled for to last for “about three weeks” with a break at Thanksgiving, then end on December 10.
