Nine-Yr-Old Oklahoma Boy Murdered by Physician Father

A heartbreaking and unfathomable murder case has occurred in Oklahoma City. Heartbreaking in that the victim is a nine-yr-old boy, a Cub Scout who was described by those who knew him as “sweet”. Unfathomable in that the alleged perpetrator is Oklahoma City physician Stephen P. Wolf, 51, Tommy’s father, who has been arrested for the crime.

Shortly before 4 am, police responded to two 911 calls made by his “distraught” mother, Mary, who had defensive wounds to her hands and face. Inside the Nichols Hills home, the police discovered Wolf, “armed” with a knife and Tommy, who had been mortally wounded.

The first call was made to 911 by a next-door neighbor at 3:55 am. The neighbor reported “someone ringing their doorbell frantically”. The neighbor wondered if it was the “paper boy”.

The neighbor wouldn’t answer the door.

It was later reported the person at the door was Tommy’s mother who then apparently returned home and made the two subsequent 911 calls.

According to the police, the “altercation” started in the “victim’s bedroom” as “some kind of fight”.

An “altercation” between a 9-yr-old boy and his father, who at around 3 in the morning should have been safe in his own bedroom, sound asleep in his bed. A “fight’ that ended with the boy’s death and his mother suffering wounds while trying to protect her son.

Neighbors described the family as “close” and Tommy, a Cub Scout and third-grader at Christ the King Catholic School, located just two blocks from the family home, as “sweet”. Mary Wolf remains hospitalized with non-life threatening wounds.

Wolf, an Internist, who received his degree in medicine in 1988 at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, was arrested on a murder complaint.
