While Lynne Curtin may be the really “nice” Real Housewife of Orange County, it seems she’s got some “explainin” to do in regards to her recent track record of stiffing landlords.
In last week’s season five episode of Real Housewives of Orange County, Slade suggested genetic testing for the new lovestruck couple, Gretchen and Slade, Jeana said goodbye to the series, Tamra and new Housewife Alexis’ families had some “bonding” time, Vicki laid the groundwork for restoring her image, Lynne and family were seen packing up and moving from their Capistrano Beach home, and the women-sans Jeana-attended a private lingerie “party” at the local La Perla shop.

Lynne Curtain, 52, same age husband Frank, and younger daughter Alexa, 16, were seen packing up and moving out of their Capistrano Beach home. Lynne told Alexa that the “lease was up” and that it would be “great” for Alexa because the family was moving to Laguna Beach where Alexa could see her friends. Apparently the “great” times ended in mid-August as the family faced their second eviction notice in the span of less than three months, were accused damaging the carpet and travertine tub, and, of “looting” furniture from the owner of their Laguna Beach rental.
Previously we wrote about Slade, OC’s Jetsetting Deadbeat Dad. We’re usually loathe to label people but in Slade’s case, there’s actual evidence to back up our opinion:
-An arrest in February for non-payment of $10,000 in back child support, plus,
-A letter from California’s Department of Child Support Services, sent in October, kudos to TMZ, which stated Slade’s non-payment of child support had risen to $77,356.75, and,
-A corresponding letter from Slade to SDCSS which stated he was “unemployed” and needed to lower child support payments.
Granted, there could be extenuating circumstances involved, such as an inability to find work. Even so, based upon the fact that Slade’s younger son Grayson has been fighting a rare form of malignant brain cancer for several years, coupled with Slade’s appearances with Gretchen at designer shows and movie premiers, while Grayson’s mother has stated Slade visited his son just “twice” last year, and hadn’t sent his son a birthday card, in our opinion, the label of “jetsetting deadbeat” dad isn’t too far out of line.

We also found it quite interesting that, during last week’s show, which was filmed last summer, Gretchen and Slade were filmed traveling to Scottsdale, AZ, to attend a friend of Gretchen’s rather opulent birthday party. Gretchen made the comment that she and Slade should enjoy themselves, as she didn’t think they’d be able to “afford” this type of lifestyle in the future. Gretchen also stated that she was “in love” with Slade.

Gretchen and Slade discussed “marriage” and “kids”, with Slade stating the two should get “genetic testing”, and that Slade was “excited”, and wanted “4 kids”. There was also quite a bit of “public affection” display between the two. We wondered if Gretchen had totally discounted the “thousand” red flags waving furiously round Slade’s head, especially in regards to children.
While Slade seems to be a “deadbeat” dad, Lynne Curtin may qualify as Orange County Housewife “Deadbeat” Renter or Eviction Queen as Lynne and her family had been evicted from not one, but two rental homes in the span of several months. The first being the Capistrano home in Dana Point, where last week, Lynne stated they were moving from because the lease was “up”. According to Lynne, the family was “downsizing” and moving to Laguna Beach due to husband Frank’s construction business undergoing a really bad two year spell.
According to South Coast Homes, the lease was up “due” to a “five day eviction” notice.
From South Coast Homes:
“According to court documents, Curtin and husband had a writ of possession, or 5-day eviction notice, served to them from their landlord in late May for an unpaid amount of $13,480 in rent and damages in Dana Point. ‘Writ of possession’ is fancy for, ‘if you don’t move out, we’ll send law enforcement to move kick you out.’”
According to SCH, the site, TMZ had discovered the Curtins may have been evicted from the Laguna Home in late August.
TMZ reported on August 17, that the Curtins had received a 3-day eviction notice, and that a Real Housewives camera crew was on hand, and that the Curtins had failed to pay utilities and the realtor a real estate commission.

“According to the notice, the couple owes the home owner a $10,000 security deposit, $600 late fee and $1,763 in other expenses. The homeowner also claims the Curtins have been delinquent on their utilities — which have now been shut off.”
On August 23, Radar reported that, according to sources, Frank was “getting the boot”, that Lynne was “leaving” Frank and taking the two daughters with her. That Frank was the “culprit” in the couple’s “financial” mess, that he’d been “hiding the bills”. And, that Frank was “devastated”.
Even so, one wonders, just how far the “distancing herself from Frank” Lynne may be attempting will actually “work”? Whether Lynn can convince viewers that she wasn’t partially responsible, or actually so “clueless” that she wasn’t “aware” of the couple’s financial difficulties?
According to TMZ, the Curtins were evicted in 2003, and never paid the homeowner the $9,104 still due:
We called up the dude they stiffed, his awesome response: “Frank and his charming wife vanished like the wind behind a Taco Bell. I hope the current victims have better luck.”
According to TMZ, when Lynne and Frank were served the eviction notice on the Laguna Beach residence, they claimed it wasn’t valid because it was served to their daughter, a minor. The couple then “lawyered up” to contest the eviction. According to TMZ, on August 26, the Curtins agreed to reimburse the homeowner for her moving expenses and a late fee, which meant the homeowner will never recoup the $10,000 security deposit.
On September 5, TMZ reported the homeowner had filed theft charges with the Laguna Beach Police Department alleging the Curtins had stolen a “bookcase, credenza, armoire and a glass shelf — worth around $5,000″, and that the family had “trashed” the carpet and travertine tub.
September 3, Reality Tea had more info on the latest Lynne “eviction”. That Lynne had been paid $120,000 as Real Housewives cast member and had opted to pay for the facelift rather than paying the $12,000 security deposit to keep her family in their new home.
Lynne wasn’t the only one to have plastic surgery, her oldest daughter Raquel got a nose job which Lynne, in an earlier episode, stated the competition in Orange County was so fierce the younger generation needed a “leg”, or in this case, “nose” up.
According to NewportBeachPlasticSurgery.com, Lynne and Raquel’s body work was done by plastic surgeon, Dr. Milind K. Ambe, who also performed Tamra Barney’s breast procedure and Tamra’s mother’s facelift. Dr. Ambe’s Housewife “work” was featured in Star Magazine.
Here’s the link to Dr. Ambe’s Facebook page, where Ambe cited the Star article. Makes you wonder if there was any quid pro quo at work in that Dr. Ambe’s patients and his “work” will be and were seen on Real Housewives, a form of excellent “free advertising” for Dr. Ambe.
On November 7, Reality Tea reported where Curtin claimed she had paid for the plastic surgery from her Lynne Curtin Designs jewelry collection.
The Hollywood Gossip reported that Lynne had had her face lift done July 11 and posted a photo of the “new” Lynne.

Can Lynne please use adult vocabulary beyond that of her teenagers? To hear her talk to Frank about serious issues and say “whatever”and “I’m so over this” makes her really look stupid. The divorce is eminent because Frank is telling his wife and daughter how much he loves them and they are whining about not having the money they want.
Frank still didn’t learn and continues to give in when ‘his girls’ get upset, so he offers them a family vacation, after professing that they live beyond their means. If he can no longer serve them financially, he is out after all those years.
Lynne has Frank taking all the responsibility, but she professed during the show to be the bread winner due to his construction business and she allegedly received $120,000 from the show. What is she divorcing him for then? Lack of sufficient income.

Lynne’s daughters are the most spoiled kids. They cuss at their parents, and whine when they dont get their way. I remember last season one of the girls got a bmw for her birthday after stating “if i he doesnt give me a car im gonna be pissed”. In an article for Los Angeles Times she stated that she is strict and neither of her girls have cars right now. Ya right. Maybe they were reposessed. Lynne tries to act like the girls. All they say is “im so over this”. I am over them. Why are they on this show? I feel bad for Frank but he has allowed this behavior. It is so disfunctional. The girls act like the family revolves around them. Why when Frank and Lynne meet at his hotel room does their daughter come too? Isnt this something the “adults” should work out and talk with the kids later? Alexis response is she just wants to be a normal teenager? She is so over this. If she is so over it why doesnt she go out and get a job and support herself and pay for her own shopping sprees and booze that she is so fond of. I disagree with Lynne. She may have been blindsided about the deposit but she had to have know about the money troubles. She would have to be a complete idiot not to notice or see the stress of her husband. She is not innocent. She is copping out and blaming it on Frank, who by the way is only used for his financial support of these 3 wannabe princesses. What happened to “for better or worse”? She said on the bench outside at their house she wanted to be partners and he kept her in the dark and treated her disrespectfully. REALLY? really. In fact, she really didn’t give him time to talk at all becasue she ran her mouth all about her then walked away. Frank needs to kick her to t he curb, let the girls take care of themselves, since they are so “special” and move on with someone that will be happy with just a regular lifestyle and live stress free. Lynn is too busy trying to keep up with everyone else on the show. I dont see Frank spending. They only show the girls an Lynne shopping and taking trips. Hmmmmmm……I guess they will throw him to the wolves now that the wallet is dry. By the way, Lynne’s facelift makes her look like Steven Tyler.
