Dazzle White Teeth Whitener Scam: “Free Trial” Turns into Big Bucks Credit Card Bills
Dazzle White Customers Beware: Better Business Bureaus Getting Complaints over Company’s “Free Trial” Tactics
Customers Shocked to Discover High Credit Card Charges after “Signing up” for “Free Trial”, Unable to Get Refunds, Forced to Cancel Bank, Credit Cards

“Revolutionary Breakthrough” in Scamming Customers?
We caught this story at the Galveston County The Daily News where numerous complaints have been filed at local Better Business Bureaus after customers complained about being charged up to $150, plus a $50 “monthly” fee for a “free trial”.
From the Daily News:
Better Business Bureau offices across the country are being bombarded with thousands of complaints from consumers like Brown, most of whom said they thought they were signing up for a free trial. Those consumers are telling Better Business Bureau officials their credit or debit cards are being billed before the trial ends and, in some cases, are billed after they have told the company they want to cancel.
Along with Dazzle Smile, other names behind the teeth-whitening ads include White Smile, Teeth Smile, Ivory White, Celebrity White Teeth, Ultra Cleanse Plus and others, according to the Better Business Bureau.
The Daily Mail has more info on Dazzle Smile, who does business as Just Think Media, and Premier Whitening. And, on their “terms and conditions”. Even so, DM found where one customer was billed after she declined to give a credit card to get the free trial. DM also has tips on what “red flags” consumers should look for, such as contact info and “reading the fine print”.

We did some further research and found where someone had posted a question about Dazzle White at Yahoo Answers, and the comments where customers stated they had been unable to get refunds, stop the company from billing them, and had to cancel their credit or bank card.
From Yahoo Answers:
Has anyone else been scammed by dazzle smile & denta white?
Dazzle Smile in conjunction with Denta White are a scam,
I red this article on the internet about someone that had found
an economical and simple way to whitening teeth with
Dazzle Smile and Denta white. The only thing you needed to do was
to get a free sample for around $5 for shipping for both.
Well, I got my sample and about a month later a got another
sample, and a credit card charge of $350!!!
I called both companies and was only able to get $80 back
the rest of my money is history.
I am pretty good not to fall for scams like this
but this website had hidden their charges very well i must say.
They got me and who knows how many others, and while they praise themselves
as to post their refund policy very clearly, it is very deceptive so that
by the time you want to return their product for a refund, it is too late.
Has this happened to anyone else?
YESSSS!!!!! I’m so angry! so, I called my bank and I canceled my card. So they will not be able to charge me now? right?
YES!!! I realized within 15 minutes of placing my trial order that this was not going to end well. . .I called immediately and asked them to cancel, kept asking to speak to the next person up the chain and got NO WHERE. Very frustrating. Got the free trial in the mail but now a charge has appeared from Greece for $87.62. I have not received the product yet but was advised by VISA to return the package unopened. VISA security told me they have gotten many complaints about this company. I agree with you, I am also web saavy and they still got me big time. VISA advised me to contest the charge with them if DazzleSmile doesn’t credit the charge after receiving the returned unopened product. I plan to return it certified mail. Good luck to all of us getting our money back. What a SCAM!
Embarrassed to say that I fell victim to this scam/fraud. Dazzle White, dazzle smile, whatever they are calling themselves today is a scam! its a foreign company that will bill you without end. If you fell victim to this, call your CC company and dispute the charges immediately. Have your card canceled to avoid their future charges, which you cannot stop as they play a shell game by changing their company name. I followed their return policy to try to get my money back, but those poor dweebs/trolls that work in their call centers in Iowa have no authority to do anything. Avoid this company like the swine flu!!
And for those that do work in their US call centers ~ you are pathetic scum bags. Get a real job…..

We found this article posted at the site, ArticleBase, which stated it’s a “review” of Dazzle White:
Dazzle White Pro Review – Does it really work? Or is it just a scam?
Here’s an excerpt:
The newest teeth whitening treatment has been released recently. Dazzle White Pro is currently the best selling teeth whitening treatment. It beats all other whitening procedures by far. It can whiten teeth in a matter of a few days just by using it for 5 minutes each time.
Dazzle White Pro is easy to apply and comes in a pen-like applicator. This makes it easy to store and bring anywhere. The quick application procedures allow you to whiten your teeth at home, at work, while travelling, or right before stepping out.
Dazzle White contains the same amount of bleaching power as professional dental teeth whitening procedures, along with xylitol that helps reduce oral/dental diseases. Dazzle White not only whitens teeth, but it also battles plaque. Without plaque and stained yellow teeth, you will definitely have a healthier mouth and a brighter white smile.
Currently, you have the opportunity to get a free trial offer of Dazzle White Pro. Dazzle White is almost too good to be true, considering the cost does not even compare to professional dental teeth whitening costs, but when it comes to being a scam it is definitely far from it!
You can read more about how Dazzle White works and how to get a free trial offer. Click Here!
Funny how the “review” didn’t address whether Dazzle White was a “scam”, while the “review” didn’t mention actually “using” the product.
Several comments where posted that stated Dazzle White was a scam, while one comment seemed to be from the “company”:
Hello,
I’m sorry if there was some confusion about your offer and subscriptions. We honestly didn’t mean to inconvenience you in any way. The terms and conditions of our offer are visible on the order page, but we will try to make them clearer in the future. Customer service is our number one priority and we do everything we can to be open with all of our customers. Of course, mistakes can be made; and if you did not understand our terms and conditions we are happy to offer you a full refund if you would
like to return the product. We have always honored our 60-day guarantee and will continue to do so in the future as we try to improve our site. You can talk to customer support using our Live Chat system 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our U.S.-based help lines are also staffed each and every day of the week to respond to any questions you may have both before and after your order. Simply call us at 866-989-2686 or visit our site http://www.dazzlewhitepro.com/contactus.php and we will be happy to walk you
through the entire cancellation process.
Despite the reassurances that the “company’s” customer service was their “number one priority”, and that they had a “Live Chat system” staffed 24 hours a day, and, that the company “honored” the 60 day “money back” guarantee, there’s this comment:
THIS IS A SCAM.
They say “FREE” on the website and charge you $60. I tried to talk to someone through their livechat system and by phone and still they would not give me a refund. This company has no sympathy and lacks customer service.
This has caused nothing but a big hassle. I am dealing with my bank right now and reporting fraud as well as reporting to the BBB.
We found one comment on whether the “stuff” actually “works”:
hello
This stuff works, but it’s also a very tricky scam. The other guys basically told you already. READ THE TERMS AND CONITIONS. It says it all about how you will be charged $59.95 if you don’t cancel the trial within 14 days of receiving the free package, and they have to receive the unused portion (lol) back within 14 days (and you pay shipping to return it). Then they will automatically send you a $60.00 3-month supply every 3 months unless you cancel. So either use the trial package quickly and cancel (but you’ll still have to buy the additional 3 month supply) or don’t use it at all and cancel right away and send it back. This is really scammy. They make it so that the timing of the contract return policy makes it impossible to use the trial AND cancel the additional order! So it’s really a $60 3 month trial!!! Notice they take out the $60 right up front as a Pre-Auth on your card so that you can’t really stop it (becuase they know chances are you won’t cancel and return right away and it’s impossible for you to use the trial package and cancel the additional 3 month supply).

This company is doing a bait and switch….let you the full product in a tiny bottle…if you don’t read the fine line, you have 14 days to send back the product or call their number to cancel. They will automatically charge you the full price for this product and every month, they will continue to send you the product for the full price…
This product is a full of crock, scam

I too was scamed by dazzle white. Not only did I start to received dazzle white every month , I was also being sent another product sparkle white. I sent all the product back asap. My credit card was then getting dinged for 89.00 american for the dazzle white and the the sparkle white as well. Long story short I sent all the product back by UPS with a tracking number. Called my visa and they credited me all the charges because I had proof that all the product was sent back. This took 7 months to straighten out and I had to cancel my visa card and get a new one. I did not know that when I signed up for dazzle white on the internet I also gave another company permission to charge my visa 25.00 USD for use of an internet site to check weight information. Total scam but so glad it only ended up costing me $25.00 USD, there was no way I could get a credit from that charge. It it looks or sounds to good to be true IT IS!!!

I cannot believe I got scammed. The problem is now that I spoke to my cc company and they
told me to send it back to Dazzle White. But I threw out the envelope, and have no place to
send it. $87 is no joke! I spoke to a customer rep and they would not credit my cc.I guess I
can call them again tomorrow and try and get an address. They were very rude on the
phone.

I fell for this. It was a nightmare. I canceled my card immediately. But getting a refund was tough. I received two annomous emails saying my account had been canceled. I kept asking “Who are you?”. Finally they identified themselves. Then, during the course of many phone calls, I was told by several people that yes, I had returned the product within the required time and was due a refund but they couldn’t do it because my account was closed (BY THEM ANNOMOUSLY!)
The BBB should fry them and get them off the market!

I am shocked that I fell for this and now have over 5 charges from different companis in the US.
What on earth did I sign up for in the Terms and Conditions!
It is sickening, I have cancelled my CC but am now worried that they will chase me for unpaid charges when they realise they can’t charge me, has this happened to anyone else or do they leave you alone once you cancel your CC?

Contact your credit card company and file a complaint against the company. If they try to “chase you” for the charges your credit card company will let you dispute the charges. In this case, we doubt Dazzle White would attempt to collect as it would cause the credit card company to investigate the charges.
Good luck and don’t forget to contact your Better Business Bureau and your state’s Attorney General’s Office.

My mom bought some Dazzle white and it racked up $300 within one month!

THIS IS WHAT HAS WORKED FOR ME:
IF YOU GET FOOLED BY THIS DON’T MAKE MORE WORK FOR YOURSELF THAN YOU HAVE TO. DON’T BOTHER ARGUING WITH DAZZLE WHITE AND JUMPING THROUGH ALL THEIR RETURNS POLICY HOOPS. GO STRAIGHT TO THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT OF YOUR BANK AND CLAIM BACK ANY CHARGES YOU’VE INCURRED…AS FOLLOWS:
1. CALL YOUR BANK. ASK TO SPEAK TO THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT. SAY THAT THERE HAVE BEEN TRANSACTIONS WHICH YOU DO NOT RECOGNIZE AND DID NOT AUTHORIZE. YOU MUST STATE THIS CATEGORICALLY. DO NOT GO INTO ALL THE DETAILS OF WHAT YOU DID AND HOW YOU GOT SUCKERED IN- THERE’S NO NEED. BEFORE CALLING PREPARE A LIST OF ALL THE RELEVANT TRANSACTION WITH DATES THEY CAME OUT.
2. THEY WILL SEND YOU A CLAIM FORM. YOU MUST SIGN IT & SEND BACK. YOUR CARD IS CANCELED AND A NEW ONE SENT OUT. YOU ARE REFUNDED PROMPTLY- TAKES 3-5 DAYS IF YOU’RE BANK IS HALF DECENT.
3.PHONE DAZZLE WHITE ON 888-264-5497 AND CALMLY ASK THEM TO CANCEL (AND GET A CANCELLATION NUMBER- IF FOR ANY REASON THEY RESIST TELL THEM YOU HAVE ALREADY PASSED THEIR DETAILS TO THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT OF YOUR BANK. THEN THEY WILL GIVE YOU IT) AND ALSO THE NUMBER TO CALL SO YOU CAN CANCEL THE SUPER WORLD FIT SUBSCRIPTION OR WHATEVER AFFILIATE PRODUCT IT IS YOU ‘SIGNED UP’ FOR (IT SEEMS TO KEEP CHANGING). KEEP THEIR CANCELLATION EMAILS SAFE.
DAZZLEWHITE/SMILEBRIGHT/ULTIFRESH ARE ON THE VISA EARLY WARNING SYSTEM. BANKS KNOW ITS FRAUD. THEY WILL HAVE TO REFUND YOU. DON’T ACCEPT NO AS AN ANSWER. ANY ‘AGREEMENT’ YOU MADE WITH DAZZLEWHITE ISN’T WORTH THE PAPER ITS (NOT) WRITTEN ON.
THAT IS HOW YOU MAKE A FRAUD CLAIM. DON’T SPEND AGES TRYING TO ARGUE WITH DAZZLEWHITE- YOU’RE NOT GOING TO GET ANYWHERE AND THERE’S NO NEED TO BOTHER SENDING PRODUCTS BACK TO THEM EITHER. THIS METHOD ALSO GETS DAZZLEWHITE IN MORE TROUBLE AND OFF-LOADS THE HASSLE ONTO YOUR BANK- WHICH IS HOW IT SHOULD BE. DON’T TAKE THE MEEK AND MILD ATTITUDE HERE. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS AND DESERVE AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE FILING FRAUD CLAIMS AGAINST THEM.

Here is what you do to get even. Create about 5-6 checking accounts. Make an order with each of those accounts CC debit cards with these scam companies. Let them bill you for the shipping as advertised but once that is done and they have sent you the “free” trial. Cancel the account you used so they cant charge you any more. Then sell their crap on ebay to get your money back.
Worked for me. Takes a couple weeks and some of your time. But even if you dont resell it, its worth it to scam those assholes back.

Maria,
Since you posted a comment here on Dazzle White’s customer satisfaction guarantee and wrote:
“Of course, mistakes can be made; and if you were not aware of our terms and conditions in our site, we are happy to offer you a full refund if you return the unused product back to us”….
Could you please explain how a customer has thirty days to use Dazzle White with a money back guarantee but must return the “unused” Dazzle White bottle back if they’re not satisfied?

Celebrity White Teeth charges $150 DOLLARS if you miss the cancel-by date. It’s the “annual subscription” and what a rip off! No refunds!

I was scammed for $58.76 and when I called to get my refund on 6/22/09, I was given a fake cancellation number, name of customer service rep, and excuse for why the manager could not speak to me over the phone. I opened up a case with the BBB and was told to open with the International BBB. So I did! I received a letter stating that they did not have enough company information to process my complaint so I guess MERRY CHRISTMAS crooks! Keep the money I guess. I deserved it?

I was scammed by Brite White. It was only a 3 day trial period. I didn’t realize I was going to be charged $87.13 because they hid it so good. They mailed my “free” trial on Nov. 9th and charged me on Nov. 12th the $87.13 which didn’t include the $1.49 and a charge that wasn’t mentioned of $3.87. Also, I didn’t receive the complete kit. I received my CC statement with a closing date of Nov. 15th and immediately called my CC company to report a fraud. They closed my account and issued another card. I’m hoping I can recover at least the $87.13. Oh, I almost forgot. The phone numbers are always busy as if the phone is off the hook or the cable is disconnected. I’m calling my CC company right now to report that I still can’t get an answer.
