Famous Huffer “Mugshot”
You may not remember his name but you may remember his face: the 2005 famous “mugshot” of a 41-yr-old West Virginian man, Patrick Tribett, and his gold spray painted spattered face. An intoxicated Tribett was busted after trying to purchase more paint in a store in Bellaire, Ohio.
Tribett’s back in the news, this time, his attorney, H. John Rogers, is threatening to sue Amazon.com, Hot Toys Ltd. of China, Cafe Press Corps of California, and Getty Images. Rogers claims the companies used Tribett’s “image” for financial gain without Tribett’s “permission”.
According to his attorney, the good news is that Tribett has “made an amazing turnaround” and has been “sober for 8 weeks”.
Tribett garnered a second “spray paint face” mugshot on March 23, 2009, after his arrest in Steubenville, Ohio. Tribett was picked up by the cops after someone reported a “suspicious” hitchhiker with paint on his face. Tribett was detained after the cops determined he was wanted on a parole violation warrant out of Ohio.
The site, Inhalant Abuse, reported that this arrest was Tribett’s seventh for getting caught huffing spray paint since 1998.

Actually he may have a case under federal civil law: The Lanham Act (15 USC 22).
