Morning Intell: Weekend Edition: Sunday October 25, 2009

  • WHAT? Swine Flu Cases Overestimated?.
We won’t pretend to fathom whether this is good or bad. But, it is contrary to what everyone else in the MSM is saying.

“(CBS) If you’ve been diagnosed “probable” or “presumed” 2009 H1N1 or “swine flu” in recent months, you may be surprised to know this: odds are you didn’t have H1N1 flu.

In fact, you probably didn’t have flu at all. That’s according to state-by-state test results obtained in a three-month-long CBS News investigation.”

The Center for Disease Control is part of the federal government and the federal government wants to run health care. Hmmm….

  • FAILED OBAMA 2011 COUP: Breaking News.
A new internet game at the US of Earth site is called the Failed Obama Coup 2011. Traffic on the new site has spiraled upward and it features a “Breaking News” feed with headlines such as “I.S.U.E Leaders Arrested by Militia”

March 2011 – Virginia USA – In heavy combat earlier today I.S.U.E. (International Service Union Empire) members were arrested by the T.A.M. (Texas and Arizona Militias) that came in after they cleaned up their respective states. “Sic Semper Tyrannis!” can be heard echoing from miles away as the Militia marches on.

Players register and compete in the game where they are given a home county with 5000 militia members to train before they start operations.
SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION BIT: It’s all good fun–especially because DBKP is mentioned on the sidebar as part of the PATRIOT’S BLOGROLL. Yeah! We’re currently tied for 12th place with Big Government. Click over, complete the 10-second registration process and cast a vote for the proud patriots from DBKP!
You’ll also notice plenty of amusing statistics, stories and graphics.

    Who knows?

Maybe the DBKP Rangers will one day take over Bland County!?!?

  • SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION, Part 2 Reactions to Sarah Palin’s Endorsement of Doug Hoffman, Part 2 .

Includes this writer’s reaction yesterday. Yeahx2!
Also at the same site, Texas 4 Palin: Reactions to Sarah Palin’s Endorsement of Doug Hoffman.

    A treasured Texas two-fer!

  • THIS JUST IN: Vampire Killer Sought by Aussie Authorities: Million Dollar Reward Offered.

Okay, so maybe the guy wasn’t a “200-year-old vampire”. But he still got gunned down and the Aussies want the killer–bad.

  • ALL-INCLUSIVE SARAH PALIN RESOURCE: The Book of Sarah .

“The Book of Sarah is a reference website containing well over 2,600 active links to news stories, press releases, photos, videos, MP3s, PDFs, blog posts and websites about Alaska’s remarkable Sarah Heath Palin. It’s not yet a database, because we haven’t used tags to put the information in searchable form. That will come later. For the time being, we are collecting the information and organizing it chronologically.”

Been looking for some Sarah Palin goodness? Well, here you go.

  • ANOTHER CONSERVATIVE FIRECRACKER: George Will profiles Michele Bachmann.
The Minnesota Mama Mauler is presented to the MSM world.
From Sister Toldjah: “As I’ve written before, she’s in a tough re-election fight next year, as the far left are attempting to re-brand her as some crazy right wing fringe loon, as they tried to do with Sarah Palin. You can help her in her efforts to stay in Congress, and in her efforts to fight the left’s smear attacks, by clicking here.”

What is it about strong conservative women with principles that excite and scare the left? You’d think there’d be more lefty feminists that would decry the practice….until you remember that feminism is only a far-left cause these days, uninterested in women who have different ideas from the feminist establishment.

  • TITLE SAYS IT ALL: My Letter to the Editorial Page Editor of the L.A. Times Regarding That Fact-Challenged Pro-ACORN Op-Ed Written by the ACORN Consultant.

From PP: “A recent op-ed in your paper defending ACORN makes at least two factual misstatements: 1) that ACORN staff offered to help shield an underage prostitution ring at only two offices, and 2) that no voter fraudulently registered to vote by ACORN had ever actually cast a ballot. Furthermore, your paper failed to disclose that the author of the op-ed, Peter Dreier, has been a (presumably paid) consultant for ACORN in the past . . . something that might help explain how he botched the facts so badly.”

Good to have Patterico watching the “press watchdogs”–otherwise, unwitting LA Times readers would believe the stuff that’s in that “news”paper.

  • RACHEL’S APPROVED: Our Obama-Approved News Team At Work.
  • THIS JUST IN: Obama’s War on Fox News Becomes a Quagmire.

Those brave comrades at the People’s Cube report the news the others dare not!

    War on Fox
[ABOVE: An update from the War on Fox News]

“THE WHITE HOUSE – Despite the President’s promise of a swift and decisive victory, Obama’s War on Fox News has developed all signs of an unwinnable quagmire, making the White House even more isolated in its unilateral attempts to crush the growing media insurgency. As the war continues to grind on for a second month, public opinion is shifting towards a quick and complete withdrawal. While many observers still agree that the “War on Limbaugh” is a “just and necessary war,” even the former supporters of the war effort are now labeling the War on Fox an “unnecessary war of choice” and claim that the cable channel had nothing to do with Obama’s falling approval numbers.”

  • FROM THE DOC: CONNED.

“It is simply unbelievable–and rather frightening– that this sort of thing could be happening in America. I wonder if the people of this country are beginning to understand the repulsive totalitarian character of the person they have elected President?”

We’ve said as much. But we like hearing it again–and when the writer is a Dr….well, we like it that much more.

  • TURNING THE PAGE: America’s Obama Obsession .

VDH: “For 30 months the nation has been in the grip of a certain Obama obsession, immune to countervailing facts, unwilling to face reality, and loath to break the spell. But like all trances, the fit is passing, and we the patient are beginning to appreciate how the stupor came upon us, why it lifted, and what its consequences have been.”

The CDC might look into a vaccine for the remaining cases of Obamamania, but it’s doubtful it would be ready by 2012.

Morning Intell Weekend Edition

  • JAY LENO: “Here’s the latest from the Pentagon — the generals are worried that the White House is spreading itself thin by trying to fight a war on two fronts; Afghanistan and Fox News.”

  • GOOD or EVIL?: Daily scoreboard.
It was a comeback day–that’s all the hint readers get.

  • LIBERTARIANS, FREEDOM & CULTURE: Liberty, choice and the nature of “ought to” .

Reason is featuring a debate on whether libertarianism should concern itself with cultural or social norms.”

    Good points raised by all.

  • MORE NY 23: NY 23 Congressional Race Round-up.

The thing that’s noticed is that AWOL in this debate over the future of the Republican Party are two notorious Republi-weenies: Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee. Huckabee tries to have his cake and eat it too: he says he “agrees” with Doug Hoffman, but doesn’t endorse him.

Remember that weasel-like stance in 2011, when Huckabee tries to pretend he’s a candidate who will stand on principle.

  • ONE GUESS: Who lost France?

“Now who’s the go-it-alone cowboy? Obama has damaged relations with the UK, France, the Czech Republic, and Poland, which even Joe Biden was forced to admit yesterday. Instead, Obama has focused his friendlier attention on Russia and Iran. What has Obama and the US received in return? Laughter over Hillary Clinton’s amateurish “reset button” and zero cooperation on Iranian nuclear weapons. And this is “smart power”?

Which cagey wizard of “smart power” makes the French look resolute?

    Another one guess-er.

  • NFL: Vikes-Steelers presents intriguing matchup; more to watch in Week 7.

Peter King: “Maybe I’ve got the story of the week wrong. In this space, I always try to look at the aspect of the weekend’s games that fascinates me the most, and the thing that really hit me the other day when looking over the 13 games on tap was this: Dick LeBeau and the Steelers against the two-headed Brett Favre/Adrian Peterson monster of the Vikings.”

Steelers’ Aaron Smith is lost for the season, but Troy P. should be playing from the latest reports. Big mid-season inter-conference game.

  • PLEASE, WON’T YOU HELP OUT? This Is A Tough One.

I Own the World was experiencing technical difficulties, but thankfully, that’s all resolved now. They now are looking for a few good suggestions:

“We get word that Nancy Pelosi is cutting a country album. We wonder what the title of this album could possibly be ???? And while you’re at it, perhaps you can speculate about the title of a few of the tunes that will be released as singles.”

Be a pal and go help the lads out. Remember: give until it hurts.
