* LEAD, FOLLOW or GET OUT OF THE WAY: Sarah Palin: We Must Win in Afghanistan:

For two years as a candidate, Senator Obama called for more resources for the war in Afghanistan and warned about the consequences of failure. As President, he announced a comprehensive new counterinsurgency strategy and handpicked the right general to execute it. Now General McChrystal is asking for additional troops to implement the strategy announced by President Obama in March. Hundreds of thousands of Americans have sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers in harm’s way in Afghanistan right now. We owe it to all those brave Americans serving in uniform to give them the tools they need to complete their mission.

We can win in Afghanistan by helping the Afghans build a stable representative state able to defend itself. And we must do what it takes to prevail. The stakes are very high. The 9/11 attacks were planned in Afghanistan, and if we are not successful there, al Qaeda will once again find a safe haven, the Taliban will impose its cruelty on the Afghan people, and Pakistan will be less stable.

Our allies and our adversaries are watching to see if we have the staying power to protect our interests in Afghanistan. I recently joined a group of Americans in urging President Obama to devote the resources necessary in Afghanistan and pledged to support him if he made the right decision. Now is not the time for cold feet, second thoughts, or indecision — it is the time to act as commander-in-chief and approve the troops so clearly needed in Afghanistan.

On this issue, there’s more decisiveness coming out of Sarah Palin’s Facebook page than the White House.

Last Friday we posted an article on these pages asserting Bill Ayers’ authorship of President Barack Obama’s ‘Dreams From My Father,’ based on claims made by Obama biographer Christopher Andersen. It is possible that we have now gotten direct confirmation of this from Bill Ayers himself.

* JUSTICE DEPT. HIRES BLOGGERS, GIVING THEM A BAD NAME: The Most Transparent Administration Ever? Not at DOJ .

Is the Department of Justice engaging in fraud, or is it simply trying to hide its propaganda? Those of you wondering how DOJ uses your tax dollars to enforce our nation’s laws might be interested to learn that Eric Holder has apparently hired former Democratic campaign bloggers to work at the department in what appears to be a secret propaganda unit. According to a story at The Muffled Oar website, the bloggers are housed in the Office of Public Affairs (the press office). Their job is to place “anonymous comments, or comments under pseudonyms, at newspaper websites with stories critical of the Department of Justice, Holder and President Obama.” One of the bloggers is former DNC and John Edwards staffer Tracy Russo, whose name was featured prominently on the department’s introduction of its new website on October 1.

One guess what the Left would have said if it was revealed that the Bush Department of Justice had hired bloggers to leave comments on stories that criticized the DoJ. We would have said it too. We’re saying it now. Quit with the perpetual spin and just do your damned jobs.

What’s not to like for a lot of liberals about the man’s record? McCain was the candidate that liberals and squishy commentators told us was the perfect Republican nominee. Remember that when those same people start pimping Mitt Romney for 2012.

Also: when CNN and Yahoo start start fact-checking Saturday Night Live skits, it’s a sign of not only a rotten, corrupt media that’s waaay too invested in a president they helped elect. The MSM can yammer all they want about the Internet, but that’s not the problem, it’s a symptom. The problem is: they’re not trustworthy on political issues and reporting. And the public knows it. The public’s already identifying Obama with Carter. That can’t be good.
