Obama’s Fight The Smears Doesn’t Mention Obama Socialist Ties “Lies”

The current Progressive meme involving Obama Green Jobs Czar Van Jones’ resignation is that Obama has turned out to be spineless while facing down right wing “terrorists” such as Glenn Beck. The other meme: Jones’ signed a 911 Truther petition by “accident”, or “duress”, and that, hey, 911 Truthers-the bunch that believe Bush was responsible for 911-doesn’t “mitigate Jones’ “good deeds” in the White House.

Over on the Washington Post “Faith” blog, writer Eboo Patel called Jones a “Patriot”. Surprisingly, the Progressive Social site, Daily Kos and Andrew Sullivan at The Atlantic have virtually ignored the Van Jones debacle. Not surprising, the non-reporting of the MSM, except for FOX News. What progressives are omitting in their defense of Jones are Jones’ ties to assorted radical agendas such as STORM, Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, an organization formed by Jones and other activists in 1994, which was based on “Marxism and Leninism”. Sinister, most likely not, but it is regarded as a radical political fringe group.

Sullivan did state that Jones was dismissed because he was a Truther. Sullivan made the remark when responding to a prior post that claimed Jones’ ouster was due to racism:

“I don’t think that what ultimately sunk Van Jones, the trutherism connections, was racist in any conceivable way. On the other hand, the WND coverage of Jones played upon racial fears. Some criticisms of Jones were undoubtedly racist, but it was the 9/11 truther petition that did him in.”

If there’s one quote that Barrack Obama wishes he’d never uttered it has to the “judge me” by who I surround myself with.

On October 8, 2008, DBKP reported on Obama’s ties to a socialist party while running for an Illinois State Representative seat in 1996. The proof consisted of Obama’s name published on The New Party’s political update sheet. To view the sheet, follow this [link]. Obama was also endorsed by the Chicago based socialist party who was established by the Democratic Socialists of America. Not only was Obama’s name on the fact sheet, in a 1996 update, the DSA stated that “New Party members” were busy knocking on doors, hammering down lawn signs, and phoning voters to support NP candidates this fall”,

And…

“Here are some of our key races…

Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary).”

Barrack Obama had to sign up to become a member in order to get an endorsement. He later appeared at one of their meetings and thanked them. Again, could this be construed as “sinister”. Most likely not, but then again, why try to hide it?

During the election, the MSM disregarded Obama’s prior involvement in a socialist party, in fact, they continue to disregard this interesting fact regarding Obama’s past, which brings us back full circle to Van Jones, activist, and former founder of a Marxist/Lennin organization two years prior in 1994.

Jones’ demise is being blamed on his alleged ties to the 911 Truthers, while his ties to STORM have been shunted aside. And for good reason as it wouldn’t bode well for the White House to have to explain, at this late date, Obama’s former socialist ties. Which begs these questions: why is Obama’s former ties to socialism a “taboo” subject?

Obama has refused to release any of his college records, transcripts, or theses he’s written. By refusing to release these records, Obama leaves the public to speculate on what he’s written and if what he’s written won’t be well received by the general public.

Another fact worth mentioning, on Obama’s website, Fight the Smears, there’s no mention or reference to fighting “smears” or “lies” relating to Obama’s ties to a socialist party.

Obama, when running for his first public office, Illinois State Senator, held his first fundraiser in the home of Bill Ayers, unrepentant former Weather Underground domestic terrorist and a proponent of tearing down the government. This is not a “smear” but a fact. Obama did address the Ayers’ “smear” on his Fight The Smears website:

“Senator Obama strongly condemns the violent actions of the Weathermen group, as he does all acts of violence. But he was an eight-year-old child when Ayers and the Weathermen were active, and any attempt to connect Obama with events of almost forty years ago is ridiculous.”

Note that on his website, Obama doesn’t refute holding his first political fundraiser in Ayers’ home, instead his site quotes the New York Times:

“William Ayers is a professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, with whom Barack served on the board of an education-reform organization in the mid-1990’s. According to the Associated Press, they are not close: “No evidence shows they were “pals” or even close when they worked on community boards years ago …”

While the U.K.’s Times had this to say:

“Ayers was loosely involved in Obama’s election as an Illinois state senator in the late 1990s, when he was introduced to local activists at a meeting in his house. He also donated $200 to Obama’s reelection campaign in 2001.”

NoQuarter has further evidence of Obama’s involvement with Ayers, evidence which belies a “loose connection”.

Obama-which the public hasn’t been privy to-was a member of a socialist party when he ran for Illinois Senate. Again, not a smear, but a fact.

Obama chose to “surround” himself with Van Jones, a “youthful” Marxist/Lennin proponent who founded an organization, STORM, in 1994, and was involved in the 911 Truther movement from its inception, 2 days after 911. Not a smear, but a fact.

Obama is currently proposing to undertake a massive restructuring of the entire healthcare system, putting control of American’s healthcare in the hands of the government. Not “smears”, but facts.

The MSM has yet to investigate, or report if they have, anything facts surrounding Obama’s past ties to a Socialist party. Not a smear, but a fact.
