I think that Congressman Wilson should be held accountbale for his actions, since he as an elected official is held to a higher standard then the rest of us. His apology about his emotions getting thebest of him is not sufficent because he as a congressmen better yet, he’s an adult ….that should have prevented him from making himself and his party look childish.
In reguards to what Pat said: ” I’m looking for this kind of passion from my representatives”, there is a time and a place for this sort of debate and during a presidential speech is definitely not the place. Even if you hate Obama, everyone, especially elected officials should respect the office. I am all for passionate representives, I think we need more of that in Washington. But I totally disagree with him having an outburst while the President of the United States is giving a speech addressing the nation, this was not a debate. My nine and ten year old children have displayed better behavior and control of their emotions then his man did.

No, no, the scary part is that you ARE serious.
As a retired Marine I spent my over 21 years of my life defending American rights, and what I see happening today in this country frightens and sickens me.
It seems that many Americans have forgotten that the Congressman Wilson, and ALL Americans, have the RIGHT to speak their minds. They have the RIGHT to disagree with your “Glorious Savior of the Universe”, and as much as it might chap your ass, they have the RIGHT to voice their views without fear of reprisal by a tyrannical government .

You know I watch with great interest every time someone disagrees with Obama and It never ceases to amaze me how the left can profess to stand for the poor, the oppressed, and the “disenfranchised”, yet these exact same “protectors of the down trodden” turn on other Americans for ANYTHING that is perceived to go against Obama’s master plan. Even the most civil question turns the left in to a pack of howling dogs, hell bent not on correcting the issue, but on destroying the very character of the other person. (Remember Joe the plumber.)
OMG did that congressman actually call our beloved savior a “liar?” How dare he? Who gave him permission to speak anyway!
But roll the clock back a couple of years.
It seems its OK for Congressmen, Senators, pages, window washers……whatever.. to call Bush a, lets see where should I start….
Oh yeah! A liar!, a criminal, a idiot, the devil…. Etc.
I do not recall anyone asking that those attacks be squelched , or anyone held accountable.
But I know, that was different right.
You see, the left protects the rights of others IF and only IF they agree with the views of the left.
I myself am an independent and being such I can tell you what the fundamental difference is between the Right and the left is. It has nothing to do with politics. When you get right down to it the left and the right agree on more than they disagree with. For example both want to protect the environment, change health care, ect. They just disagree on how to do it.
No, the fundamental difference is this. The left will stop at NOTHING to achieve their goals, Nothing is sacred to them and, I am not talking about religion here. The left will destroy you, your family, your children, whatever it takes simply to get what they want. They will use whatever sad dirty trick they need to use. (How sad is it that Obama had to channel Ted Kennedy in his speech last night to try and gain a sympathy vote?
Yes, the right will stoop to dirty tricks too but, they never get as nasty and personal about a political issue as the left does. If you don’t believe me, step back with unbiased eyes and watch.
But, I digress.
I know that it is not taught in school any more folks but, we have RIGHTS; RIGHTS that were not given by some government, RIGHTS that cannot be taken away by some government.
These are not rights that can be turned off if you disagree with someone and turned on if they agree with you. They are rights that do not require us to apologize for disagreeing with you or for speaking our mind.
While you might not agree with my argument I have the RIGHT to voice it just as you have the right to rebut it.
There is a group of individuals in this country that do not have that right; a group that do not have the privilege of publically disagreeing with the president.
It may come as a surprise to you that those who most deserve the rights guaranteed to Americans by the Bill of Rights, those who fight and die to protect those rights, our military, cannot publically speak poorly of the president. Doing so will land them in serious trouble and maybe even prison.
These Americans, those who stand on the wall to protect your rights, remember that this is a free country which, despite the best efforts of many, STILL has Freedom of Speech.
God save us from idiots, politicians, and those who would blindly follow both.
