Carter Calls Opposition to Obama “Racist”
Hysterically Boring 1980 Carter for Re-election Ads

Jimmy Carter, Expert on Middle East Peace, Racism in America Meets with Arafat
Hot Air posted Brian Williams’ interview with ex-President Jimmy Carter. The clip was an excerpt of an upcoming interview with Carter just before Carter’s 85th birthday. The clip centered on what Williams described as the “heightened climate of what some see as racial and other hate speech since the election” of President Obama. Catch the Williams-Carter clip at Hot Air.
Here’s a quote:
Carter: I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity towards President Barrack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man. That he’s African American. I live in the South and I’ve seen the South come a long way. I’ve seen the rest of the country that’s shared the South’s attitude towards minority groups at that time…”
Since this is Jimmy Carter Clips Wednesday we thought we’d add these to the mix: tv ads from the 1980 Presidential race when Carter got clobbered by Reagan, in part, due to the massive amount of “Lunchbox” Democrats who were fed up with Carter’s Misery Index. Based on the NBC interview, it’s plain to see that misery is still part and parcel of Carter’s persona.
Enjoy!

Unfortunately anything to do with race relations in America causes people to shut down and scream, “I’m not racist!” But Jimmy Carter spoke about it from a place of “unbiased opinion”; and that’s something black people can’t do these days. Our accounts of racism are “foggy”, “clouded”, “biased”, or “manipulative”, and sometimes it takes a guy who looks like Jimmy Carter, someone who has achieved what he has, to make such a statement and be taken seriously.

It seems like no matter what happens, there will always be an issue of racism to some degree.
