Town Hall: Former Marine Gives Washington Congressman a Good Public Spanking
Former Marine David Hendrick Lays into Washington State Rep. Baird at Town Hall

Hot Air found this most excellent Rep. Brian Baird (D) Washington Town Hall clip where Baird gets a good spanking from a former Marine David Hendrick. Note the reference to “brown shirts” in the video. Baird denies he said it, yet here’s his quote:
“What we’re seeing right now is close to Brown Shirt tactics,†Baird said in an interview with the Vancouver, Wash., Columbian on Thursday. “I mean that very seriously.â€
We’ve highlighted Rep. Brian Baird before. From “Town Hall Allegations: Death Threats, Physical Assaults, Effigies, Swastikas: True or False”:
The Secret Service is investigating a fax sent to Rep. Brian Baird (D-Wash.). This story is rather intriguing on several levels.
From The Hill:
“The Secret Service may investigate a fax sent to a Democratic lawmaker that depicts President Barack Obama as the Joker and warns of “death to all Marxists.â€
The black-and-white fax portrays Obama in makeup similar to that worn by actor Heath Ledger in his portrayal of the Joker in last summer’s “The Dark Knight.â€
On Obama’s forehead is a communist hammer-and-sickle insignia, and beneath the image is the text: “Death to All Marxists! Foreign and Domestic!â€â€
The Obama “Joker†Socialism poster story began to surface in early August after people reported seeing the poster tacked up in various places in Los Angeles.
The image of Obama as the Joker-the part played by Heath Ledger-was a photoshopped image of Obama created by a student in Chicago named Firas Khateeb, who posted it on Flickr.
Someone took Khateeb’s photoshopped image and added “Socialism†at the bottom.According the The Hill, Representative Baird received the Obama-Socialism-Joker poster with the words, “Death to All Marxists! Foreign and Domestic!†beneath the image and a communist hammer-and-sickle insignia on the Obama image forehead.
More from The Hill:
“Baird has compared protesters who have shown up at lawmaker town halls during the recess to the Nazis.
“What we’re seeing right now is close to Brown Shirt tactics,†Baird said in an interview with the Vancouver, Wash., Columbian on Thursday. “I mean that very seriously.â€
“Baird has also compared protester tactics to those of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh, which drew calls for an apology from Oklahoma Republican Party Chairman Gary Jones.â€
What’s interesting to note is that Baird refers to “brown shirt tacticsâ€, and Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVey:
The Hill had this observation about the poster faxed to Baird’s office:
“The message made no specific reference to Baird and it is unclear why it was sent to his office. No other congressional office reported receiving a similar fax.â€
