Florida Doctor Fired by Health Department Over Dunkin Donuts Death Row
Florida Doctor Dismissed After Dunkin Donut Death Missives

Dr. Jason Newsom was lean and mean to local businesses so the local health department told him to pack up and leave. According to the AP, Dr. Newsom, 38, and an Iraq war Army vet, got into hot water after spelling out the results of eating fast food, in particular, Dunkin Donuts, on the Health Department’s electronic marquee in Pensacola, Florida.
Newsom was responsible for posting such ditties as “French Fries, Thunder Thighs”, and “Hamburger Spare Tire”. It was when Newsom posted a parody on Dunkin’ Donuts’ “America Runs on Dunkin” to “America Dies on Dunkin” that a local donut shop owned by a county commissioner, and a new Dunkin Donut, owned by “two lawyers” threw a fit.
Newsom, who was hired to run the Bay County Health Department several years ago began a “one man campaign” to alert locals to perils of eating fast food. He also drew the ire of co-workers after banning donuts from department meetings and candy bars from vending machines.
The irony of this story: Newsom was hired by a government entity, then fired, when he dissed a Dunkin’ Donuts and a local donut shop. And we thought government run healthcare would be a good thing.
Another irony: the county commissioner’s donut shop will be facing stiff competition by the new Dunkin Donuts which opened in mid-June.
