Airline Passengers Held Hostage on Express Jet Plane for Nine Hours
Express Jet plane holds 47 passengers hostage for nine hours

Packed conditions on airlines during a normal flight… imagine being stuck in this environment for nine hours while your plane is parked next to the airport?
*Passengers kept on plane because of rules, regulations.
Think airlines in America can no longer hold passengers hostage in planes, think again, as 47 passengers, including “crying babies”, were kept from leaving a plane parked at an airport for nine hours.
According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, 47 passengers were stuck for nine grueling hours on a small Express Jet plane at the Rochester airport due to severe weather, an overworked airline crew, and a lack of security screeners at the airport. Passengers were stuck in their seats with “over-flowing” toilets and “crying babies”.
As anyone whose flown and has had to endure a long stretch of sitting in a packed plane on the tarmac while waiting to depart or for the flight to reach the terminal, being forced to sit in a parked plane, packed with passengers, next to the airport for nine hours is behavior you’d think was more in line with former Soviet Russia. Especially when it’s one of the smaller passenger planes, where passengers are packed like sardines, food is no longer offered, and bathrooms are the size of high school lockers.
Nevermind the specter of the potential of being exposed to a passenger infected with swine flu, which, by the way, is much more prevalent today than when the press went gaga over the possibility of a swine flu pandemic back in May.
