Obama Uses 9.2 Million Illegal Immigrants to Pad the Number of “Americans” Without Healthcare Coverage
Illegal Immigrants Folded into Government’s Number of Uninsured
During last night’s press conference on healthcare reform, President Obama stated that “this was not just about the 47 million Americans who don’t have any health insurance at all”.
The number, if true, is staggering. Rather than taking Obama’s number as gospel truth, we decided to check it out.
According to the National Coalition on Healthcare, or HCHC, there are 46 million uninsured, where the “large majority”, or 80%, are native, or naturalized citizens. This means 9.2 million of “Americans” are non-native or non-naturalized, or in simpler terms: illegal immigrants.
If we do accept Obama’s number of 47 million “Americans” uninsured, then the number of illegal immigrants rises to 9.4 million.
This gives rise to the speculation as to why a sitting President would use numbers which, to put it bluntly, includes a segment of the population who are here illegally then characterize them as “Americans”?
Obama has categorically stated that illegal immigrants will not be able to participate in his plan for healthcare coverage. But then again, he did use their numbers in order to “inflate” the number of “Americans” who are uninsured. If Obama gets his coveted healthcare reform legislation passed, the 9.2 illegal immigrants he used for dramatic effect, won’t be allowed to participate. If I were an illegal immigrant I’d be feeling a tad bit disenfranchised.
There’s also the matter of soaring health care costs. What we’re not hearing from the Obama administration are the costs incurred by healthcare providers who are mandated by the federal government to provide healthcare to illegal immigrants without being reimbursed by the government.
In the current Democrat plan, every single “American” will be mandated to carry health insurance while “migrant workers”-code for illegal immigrants-are “ineligible”.
A civil court case in Florida highlights the “true cost” that hospitals face when having to care for just one illegal immigrant. In 2000, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, Luis Alberto Jimenez, who was 28 at the time, suffered critical injuries after a drunk driver hit the car Jimenez rode in.
Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Florida treated Jimenez at it’s own expense. Jimenez suffered severe head injuries which left him with the cognitive skills of a four-year-old. After four months in Martin Memorial, Jimenez was transferred to a nursing home. Seven months later Jimenez was back at Martin Memorial for treatment of bedsores. It was then that no nursing home would take in Jimenez. After keeping Martinez as a patient for over two years with an estimated $2 million to treat Jimenez “so far”, the hospital discharged Jimenez to a facility in Guatemala in 2003. The hospital is now being sued by Jimenez’s legal guardian, claiming the hospital “illegally departed” him. The plaintiffs seek punitive damages, claiming that the hospital acted with “malice and reckless disregard†for Jimenez’s safety.
In 2007, Dallas Texas hospitals reported that 40% of the births had illegal immigrants as parents. In 2005, $38.7 million in healthcare costs of illegal immigrants were not reimbursed by the federal government. These costs rose 114% between 2000 and 2005.
Due to federal laws, no illegal immigrant can be turned away from a hospital ER, even if it’s a sore throat. The majority of illegal immigrants who do receive healthcare are taking the “free” part to heart, leaving a large number of hospitals in financial straits, unable to absorb the million dollars in unpaid care. In turn they’re left with having to raise the rates of those who do have insurance and/or face closing their doors.
This is the one “true” healthcare emergency that the Dems and Obama will not and have not addressed: the real cost to healthcare providers incurred by illegal immigrants. Instead, Americans will be mandated to have healthcare coverage-paying for it out of their own pocket-while an almost ten million people who live here illegally will continue to have access for free healthcare without being forced to have healthcare insurance.

Wow, so it’s only like 37 million people? Well shit, that ain’t nothing….fuck ‘em….instead, let’s put our money into getting those illegals out of here…..of course…..then we’ll have to make business owners (many, oddly enough, who are conservatives) pay a DECENT wage to Americans……hmm…..strange how that works out……and who’s going to do the lawns of all those Conservative (and Liberal) Washington people once they get rid of the people who do it so well for so cheap…..another quandry…….I suppose we coud start treating the American worker as HUMANS again…..oh, but then we’d have to start treating our VETERANS right too…..and then we’d have to think about not sending our TROOPS into fake wars, not torturing people, not racial profiling…then the gays will want to be treated like humans….DEAR GOD>……it will snowball…..on second thought, lets leave Obama in the White House and Let’s blame immigrants for everything…..at least we know who are enemies are that way….we can’t spread ourselves too thin….we can only hate a few at a time….it’s time-consuming ya’know….
