Obama Commerce Secretary Believes Americans Must Pay For Chinese Emissions
Kudos to the Wall Street Journal for its reporting and Hot Air for getting the word out on Obama’s never-ending blame America and make Americans pay game. This time it’s greenhouse emissions and Obama’s proposed Cap and Trade bill.
According to the WSJ, during a recent trip to China, Obama Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke told the American Chamber of Commerce in China this stunning revelation that “It’s important that those who consume the products being made all around the world to the benefit of America — and it’s our own consumption activity that’s causing the emission of greenhouse gases, then quite frankly Americans need to pay for that”.
That’s right, according to Obama’s Commerce man, it’s Americans who are responsible for the world’s greenhouse emissions and we’re gonna have to pay to clean them up.
Both China and India have given the thumbs down on curbing their own greenhouse emissions. Forbes has an excellent article, Why Poor Countries Won’t Curb Emissions, explaining the reasons why the two countries are loathe to follow Obama’s Pied Piper lead.
Captain CapnTrade, Destroyer of Greenhouse Gases, Annihilator of Middle Class America
During the election Obama had this to say about his proposed Cap and Trade legislation and how it would affect Americans:
“You know, when I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know — Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it — whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, uh, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers.”
Skyrocketing electrical rates will be the tip of the iceberg that will eventually sink America. The cost of producing products, gas, food, transportation, and everything associated with energy will rise dramatically. While Americans will be asked to “make sacrifices”, those who pushed and then implemented this draconian measure will be exempt by virtue of their status: rich elite politicians whom Obama is now a card-carrying member.
