This is precisely why Scientology was formed by Hubbard: he was out to make money.
They are waiting for everyone in “First Fandom (the Science Fiction Community of the
30′s-50′s)” to die so they can re-write history: all those people knew Hubbard & wrote
him off as a crank.

I’ll agree with Scientology about one thing: If I wanted to start a business, I’d make sure to cloak it as a religion too so I wouldn’t have to pay taxes on my profits.

Marvelous peice of journalism. Why is it that any critcism of the ‘church’ of scientology is just bigoted persecution, no matter the content? These people abuse their members, make them disconnect from their families, lie, cheat, steal, to try desperately to keep people from knowing the truth: what they’re doing is immoral and illegal.

A year ago I took a new direction in my career as a social scientist; I began the study of the cult of Scientology. I’ll offer no evidence nor links, instead choosing to say GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND. You can read a good Tom Clancy novel you checked out at the library, or you can simply Google the cult and read about its history and its present. I don’t need to offer up support anymore. A year ago I might have had to do so, but today no longer. Google is your friend, keyword: Scientology (no modifiers required, be careful if you go to a Scientology website you use a proxy and enable protection from fishing).
