It’s interesting to revisit these threads a year later to see what the obots posted. For instance, he says that obama posted his colb online. What in the heck is that supposed to prove? And guess what? The state of Hawaii has refused to authenticate the copy that is online! How about that barleyman?

Secondly, the copy that is online says the information has been FILED with the dept of health. It doesn’t say ACCEPTED, like other colbs do, and like a colb should. What it implies is that the information was never accepted, and wouldn’t you know it, the state of hawaii dept of health REFUSES TO RELEASE THEIR CURRENT COPY OF PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES so that the difference can be completely explained.

Thirdly, the state of Hawaii dept of health made their statement that they had seen the vital records, (again, we don’t know if they were ever ACCEPTED) and then stated that he was a natural-born American citizen. (very curious wording, it’s not put like that anywhere else, and leads some to suspect that the dept of health is playing word games) In addition, they made the statement IMMEDIATELY after, but not until AFTER the US Congress passed a resolution stating that Obama was born in Hawaii. The dept of health didn’t release their statement until AFTER the resolution passed. Could that be how the state of hawaii came to their conclusion? Just asking.

Fourthly, the dept of health in the state of hawaii is REQUIRED BY LAW to disclose how they come to the conclusions that they do when they make public statements. (such as the one that they make about obama being a natural-born american citizen. And, once again, wouldn’t you know it, they REFUSE TO COMPLY WITH THIS LAW. Litigation is commencing on this issue as I write this post.

Now if this whole obfuscation and cover up by the msm doesn’t smell to high heaven……..

The points you raise are not invalid ones. In all of my COLB stories (mostly on missing Obama records–I believe we only have done 6 or 7 on the birth certificate alone), I have never posited that there was any conspiracy. I agree with you 100% that conspiracies never work because someone always talks. That’s why I don’t believe in them.

I HAVE written that 1961 was quite a different time than now: record-keeping occurred in a much more relaxed atmosphere. Until the late 80s, it was still possible to walk into almost any courthouse in America and procure a birth certificate, whether you knew the person or not. It was after 60 minutes did their expose on Eden Press’ Paper Trip that states cracked down on “document procurement”.

In my county, I know that through the 1970s, people routinely dropped birth announcements off at the newspaper office, no proof needed, none asked. September 11 2001 changed a lot of things–security of documents was one of the biggest changes. Many people don’t know that procedures were much different prior to 2001 and even more unregulated in the 50s, 60s and 70s.

So, if there was anything done, it didn’t have to be a web of conspiracy. It could have been as simple a matter as a mother wanting what was best for her child. One thing that certainly she would have recognized as best would have been American citizenship.

I’m not saying that it happened this way. Only that if it did, it wasn’t a conspiracy, just one person doing what was best for her child and doing it in a state that didn’t require any proof to receive a COLB if the birth was registered within a year. It had to be this way in Hawaii: some islands in the state to this day still do not have even a doctor residing.

Asking questions doesn’t mean that we’re crazy. Only that we’re curious.

When we don’t get answers, or we get finely-parsed statements–when a simple, straightforward answer would have done–it does nothing to ease that curiosity.

And we’re patient. It took 10 long months of asking questions until John Edwards was caught.; 10 months of being labeled “conspiracy theorists” and “wingnuts” and worse.

It’s only been about 10 weeks since we started looking into the COLB story. Heck, this story would disappear tomorrow with the production of an original Obama birth certificate. I took a pass on the story for months because I didn’t have the time to look into it enough to write about it with any knowledge. I had other stories that were more pressing.

As we noted in our story yesterday, state officials can’t be trusted to verify much of anything. The NJ Sec of State allowed Roger Calero, the Socialist Workers’ candidate for president on the ballot (as did other states). Calero was born in Nicaragua and still isn’t a US citizen. (He’s a resident alien holding a green card.) So there’s no question he was not eligible to be president. Yet there he was on the ballot. We also wrote yesterday that there were legitimate questions about McCain’s “natuaral-born” status. But McCain didn’t win.

We suspect that Obama attended Columbia. As we pointed out, it’s hard to imagine that at the time the story was published, none of his classmates remembered him being there. That doesn’t mean he didn’t graduate: only that he may have been busy doing something else.

I can relate. I didn’t attend many of my classes either. But I’m not the President-elect and have never been accused of “electrifying” people with my presence.

On the birth certificate…

I believe the COLB is accurate for 2 reasons:

1. State officials in Hawaii (under letterhead of the Republican Governor) have confirmed that have seen the original Birth certificate. If, in fact, it said he was born somewhere other than Hawaii, they would be bound to reveal to at least law enforcement, a fraud (e.g. the COLB posted on the Obama websites). Do you really think they would risk their jobs and careers to cover up something that would disqualify Barack Obama from being President. The risk would be too great that the fraud would someday be uncovered and they would be implicated in the coverup. Why not say nothing? They also earlier stated that the COLB posted had all the correct information on it.

2. The list of people who are covering up the fraud keeps growing. For every person you add to the conspiracy, it doubles the chance of someone speaking up. They even have the Factcheck.org folks now as part of the conspiracy. The posted photos of the COLB show the same document that was scanned in. The photos themselves are proof that it wasn’t his sister’s COLB photoshopped. If they have a physical COLB with his name on it, then why didn’t they just scan it in, as opposed to photoshopping someone elses?

Finally, I went to the website of the Hawaii DOH, and you cannot request, using their form, a long-form birth certificate. Much like California, your only option is a COLB. I am sure BO could get them to publish or send him a copy of the original, but he is probably busy right now. As far as I know he has never refused to furnish it, the simple fact is he has already provided the only document the state would give him for $12.

If you re-read the article, we never said Obama didn’t graduate from Columbia.

And, like the alumni newsletter I receive, the letter makes for fine PR.

No embarrassment here. It seems a simple thing for the public to take a look at Obama’s birth certificate.

Just curious as to why its such a state secret?

I had to provide my birth certificate (they wouldn’t accept an image) last year when I renewed my drivers’ license.

Seems like it would be a simple thing to do: pony up your birth certificate, instead of all of the COLB images.

When people take other than a simple route, it makes me curious. I suppose I may be the only one.

Now that the President of Columbia University (the one in NY) sent a letter to all alumni announcing the fact that the first Columbia grad has been elected president.

What does that do to your premise that Obama never attended Columbia?

Yet another “theory” completely debunked by truth.

First, you are embarassed by the State of Hawaii, who have validated the COLB is true and accurate, and now the President of Columbia University has you all made to look like fools.
