“Native American Literature”? What kind of nonsense is that? They didn’t even have the concept of writing before the white man came and taught them!

As for people dressing up like Nazis or something, I’d like to note that certain key characters in Hogan’s Heroes were – wait for it – Jews … including Col. Klink and Sgt Schultz, and, if I remember right, either the SS or Gestapo fellow.

And, gee, don’t the tribes have Pow-Wows in the US? They do here in Canada, where they dress up in … wait for it … deerskins and feathers, and paint, in the manner of their tribe.

PC people are weird.

Indians are from Asia. Why people keep calling Native Americans, I don’t know.
Thanksgiving represents the white people fooling the Native Americans into believing they were only friends. Got their trust before they began giving them smallpox blankets and killing them.
I’m surprised schools still have children dressing like Native Americans for this holiday, or are they dressed like Asians( the quote from the mom about her son looking like an Indian.)

Why can’t people leave children alone? Why can’t little kids have a nice day and consider what that first Thanksgiving meant to the people, Puritans and Native Americans alike, who got together to share their similarities as human beings?

Canâ€™t anything be joyful, and fun without some ogre spoiling it all? If a few leftist crazies want to teach children hate, racism, sexism, xenophobia & fear why canâ€™t they teach that to their own children in their own homes and leave the rest of us alone?

While I don’t agree with this (no kindergarten Thanksgiving), I no longer celebrate Columbus Day. We’ve been teaching faulty history for ages. Columbus didn’t discover America, he rediscovered it after the Church kept insisting the world was flat. According to archeological finds, many different cultures, from the Phoenicians to the Japanese, came to America long before Columbus. However, it was Columbus who opened the way for the genocide against Native Americans. Try seeing history from the other side for a change.
