The lady asked Biden about a remark he made and another one that Obama made. The Karl Marx quote was unexpected, not least because the lowest common denominator is so low these days.

If the Obama-Biden campaign got asked the types of questions that Palin’s been asked, Barack and Joe would be talking to to KOS and HuffPo only by now.

Putting candidates on the record is supposed to be the job of the press. For seven months of the Dem primary season, the media didn’t press Obama, but they did Clinton.

I have no love for Clinton, but news the MSM did not report back in the 1990s during the Clinton presidency–when it might have made a difference–they drug up 7 to 10 years later. Why? Why bring up the scandals years later, instead of when they were happening?

What was the difference? Because Clinton was no longer favored and deserving of softball treatment.

CBS News wanted to see Bush’s National Guard records so badly, they accepted forged documents. Documents that could have been easily enough checked.

The same curiosity about Barack Obama’s records is missing.

For goodness sake, she also asked Biden, back in September, if the internet rumours about him resigning from the ticket for Hilary were true!

One of the things journalists do is ask questions. You don’t have to endorse an idea to inquire about it. Watergate was a highly unlikely story about a sitting president having followers break into an opposition party’s headquarters. It seems absurd.

Fortunately, there were journalists who looked into it.

If only more journalists would ask uncomfortable questions of those in power, perhaps we’d have less comfortable politicians–regardless of political party affiliation.
